BUCKINGHAM PALACE TO TRAFALGAR SQUARE- And a peak at Downing Street London

Today I went to see the Queen! Had a lovely trip to Buckingham Palace London to see the sights, including St James Park and even some park pelicans!
I then take you on a walking tour to Downing Street (no sight of Boris) and along to Trafalgar Square to see Nelsons Column.

Just a quick fact, you were right. The queen was either at Windsor Castle or Balmoral Castle. When the Union Jack is flying above the Palace, that means shes not home. However, when it's the royal coat of arms, she is.

This was so great to look at as I was living in London in 80-81. You use to be able to walk up to 10 Downing Street. It's also nice to see it without the tourists as well.....the photos would be so nice. I have a photo of me sitting on the lion at Trafalgar Square.

I love London and St. James' Park might be my favorite spot - great place to go for a walk, or just sit on the benches watching the birds/squirrels and take a break from the hustle and bustle of central London!

Nice tour. I have been on a tour of Buckingham Palace and had tea in their garden. I believe it is only open August and a few weeks of September when I went and the lovely St. James Park and Clarence House. Thanks for doing this so enjoyable. I did the tour on a Sunday when the mall is closed just for pedestrians.

A lovely video. I have been inside Buckingham, Palace, twice now and each time I have enjoyed it. The Flag is only called the Union Jack, when flown on a Ship. Otherwise, it's a Union Flag. I have some videos, of London, ages ago and know where near as good as yours. I made one about The Temple Church.

Hi. Regarding the Flag at Buckingham Palace. If the plain Union Jack is flying the Queen is not Home. If the Royal Standard is Flying the Queen is Home. If a flag is flying at half mast then there has been a bereavements in the family. A flag flying at half mast is always a sign of a death and is a mark of respect. Just thought yo might like to know. 😊👍

I believe (and I could be wrong) that the Union Jack/Flag is flown when HRH is traveling or staying at one of their other residences, and the Royal Standard is flown when they are at Buckingham Palace. The practice of flying the Union Jack when HRH isn't at Buckingham Palace started when Princess Diana died while The Queen was at Balmoral(?) and there was no flag being flown at Buckingham Palace to lower to half staff.

Hi Hannah, How long have you been making these videos? I thought I was aware of all the London bloggers, I follow lots of them. I'm so glad I've now discovered your channel, I will have some catching up to do. I'm not a tourist, more of a native, but I never tire of listening to people talking about London, and listening to their perspective on it, also you give a nice tour.
