I was at church when this was televised. I thought then I had missed it for good. Today I see I was premeture as I have finally got to see it. Thank you so very much.

That was often a problem: polymaths who are too far ahead of their time just make too much sense for the status quo to accept them.

People lament the lack of 'affordable housing' (which has more to do with the price of land than the use of technology) but resist manufactured housing.

So here we are in 2021 with housing in high demand and prices soaring. it would make so much sense to have these homes built as an affordable option. But, nah - too much money to be made by investors gobbling up properties and banks making interest off those jumbo mortgages...

Where I live the price of land is a major part of the cost of housing.

Bucky is the best! I just subscribed to this channel. Awesome! I have entered the Buckminster Fuller Challenge 10 times in a row. Failed. 10 failures in a row. Right! This year the prize entry looks to be ..... "Lecterns for Leaders".

Why can't people see the genius that this man was? ...There could be domes in Alaska ect. World game would be a total democratic way to run the planet.

Very cool! The Barwise prototype was named after my Grandfather's first cousin Norman C. Barwise, who owned the factory in which Beech aircraft would build the only other instance of the Dymaxion. I literally just learned all of this, and it's fascinating.

He wasn't an anticapitalist, but he thought a substantial part or parts of the economy would become socialized. He tried to figure out ways _everybody_ could survive and thrive.

@superlammax its just as relevent today as it was when he first discovered and developed his designs the problem is we need mass awareness that there is enough technology and resources to take are of everyone. The established but slowly crumbling monetary and market system is the only thing holding back accelerated progress. When you realize that there are smoke stack cleaners that have been tied up in patents for 75+years you an easily see they are waiting for the highest bidder.
