I know this is an old video but it was very interesting. I didn’t know that’s how the size names came about. I have a question for any of the providers that come across my comment. I am a CMA and quite a few years ago I was removing sutures from a patient. His injury was on his lower lip and was a straight line towards his jaw, on the skin side. I have never seen these sutures before or since. It was a long time ago but it seems if I remember correctly the filament was running straight up along the cut and then there was stitches coming back down to close up the injury. Can anyone explain how these sutures were done and why. I had to take a few minutes to really study what was going on before removing them because it was so different. Also just a funny side note. I work in healthcare and my husband works in printing. One day he came home with about 50 of these practice kits. I was just in shock and I did put them away thinking I have no idea how to suture but the tools seemed well made and maybe I might need one of them for a non medical reason. I guess after seeing these videos I can try to practice some incase the world is ending and someone needs sutures. Now I just need an autoclave and 12 years of schooling. 😁

What suture material do you recommend for tendon suturing? Does Big tendons and small tendons have a different material approach?
@janice85144 жыл бұрын
I'm not anywhere near the medical field, but u find sutures really cool. Lol. I guess I'm weird. I do, however, occasionally need to sew and they would be so handy.

@Schlo 7G oh my! It sounds like you were knocking on death's door! Glad you came out okay. I'm all healed up now. Slight pain in one rib but only notice it if I focus on it. Most painful thing I've ever had to go through.

How is misstretment and abuse in u.s.a medical residency schools, i quitted head and neck surgery residency here in my thirld world country becouse of the psycological abuse, lost 10kg the first 2 months..., (quitted at the end of the first year)There was not that many patients not even hard scut work, they were plain mean, they played weird mind games, every single one of the upper year residents treated me worse than shit. I cried every single day thinking of how they broke me down to nothing, and my dream puffed away. Im curios of if that was an isolated event or surgery residency is just that hostile even with themselves and need to prepper better if i get to try one more time?
