Congrats! As someone else noted, you’re a lucky man to have the entire family on your adventure. Take advantage of that as long as you can. Good stuff!! Thanks for sharing.

Great video of a beautiful family and a great hunt. (I would like to see the part you edited out of when your Dad walked over and hit you in the back of the head when you were undecided about that 55 gallon drum with legs and those thick chocolate antlers.......lol.) Congratulations on a well deserved buck!

I don’t do instagram so I wanted to leave you a comment here. I too have a love for mules and have always dreamed of owning one or two. Not very good at riding so my hope was to have a carriage or wagon. The time has passed me by and life at my age (63) has many more challenges than expected. The dream has passed me by. Watching your videos is a great pleasure and brings me hope that others have not let life pass them by like me. I wish you all great success in becoming content creators. I am very interested in your taxidermy journey and would love to see more hunting and fishing via mules. Your love of family and God shines through you and is inspiring.

Awesome hunt and buck. But you killed me passing that big frame 3x4 I was like shoot it. what are you doing why would you pass that lol. You passed more big bucks then I've seen in my life this hunt. Glad you got the one you wanted. Also you don't even look like the same dude with the Mohawk and full beard. Threw me off for a second

Hahaha right?? I think he’s crazy too for passing that wide buck!! 😂 I was sitting there trying to film it and in my head I was like “shoot it!!!! Shoot it!!! Your dad will be pumped even if he’s not here!! Shoot it!!” 😂😂😂 but I am glad his dad got to be there when he shot his 5x5. And we are bringing the Mohawk back after watching these old videos haha, this archery elk season he’s going to sport one for good luck 😅😅😅

Glad y'all decided to share this with us. I'm ignorant of mule deer. How much would you estimate he weighed?
@MTN_BUILT11 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching! It was so fun to go back through all that footage and relive that hunt ☺️ he was probably 250+ on the hoof. I can’t remember how much meat me ended up with off of him, we cut and wrap our own and always weigh it for fun. It was a lot though! LOTS of great steaks, roasts and burger! 😋
@todd180811 күн бұрын
@@MTN_BUILT So, they are bigger than whitetails. That's what I was wondering. Thanks for the response.
@COREYDEER15 сағат бұрын
Wow the bodies on the big mature deer up here in Saskatchewan have much bigger bodies. My deer that’s in my profile picture weigh almost 200lb hanging as a carcass ready to butcher. We figured he was 400+ on the hoof. We have whitetail that are 300+ on the hoof.

Isn’t he cool! 😍 by far my favorite set of elk sheds I’ve ever found! So much character! We actually met up with a guy that found a couple earlier sets off that bull. He offered to buy them but I couldn’t part with them 😂😂👍🏼

@@MTN_BUILT I wouldn’t have either I was thinking how cool it would be to bring those antlers back to the right color and mounting them that would be amazing! Love you guys
@MTN_BUILT6 күн бұрын
The guy we met had some single browns off of him. I would have loved to see that bull on the hoof. From what they could tell with the other sheds they had found, that bull would have been like 12 years old the year he shed this set and I think it was his last. I haven’t heard that anyone has found him during season or another shed off of him.

Great hunt in very pretty country with mountain man Jason sporting that beard and mowhawk! Did he use his 300 WBY? I love that camp was all setup and ready to go! What a deal! I have a set of the same mugs you showed and that deer mug is hands down my favorite. I think Anglers Expressions, the makers of those mugs, went out of business because of COVID. Do you know either way?

Thank you!! He did! This was his first hunt with that gun I think. Haha yeah you can’t beat when camp is waiting for you already! We sure were glad they had rounded up some firewood, it was -12 a couple nights. I’m not sure, I’d have to ask Jasons folks if they know! It’s always a good feeling when you get to use the deer or elk cup haha ☺️👍🏼
