Cool video. I’m getting the bucktool

Great comparison and a compelling case for the Bucktool. Congrats on your business and getting into the market, keep us posted on how you like that tool over time. I'll also look forward to seeing what wheels you try out on this machine.

Thanks! I'm getting started with a sidehustle sharpening business and I'm using a WorkSharp Ken Onion Blade Grinding Attachment. I'm thinking about moving to a 1x30 setup, but I want to make sure that what I buy is most appropriate for sharpening. I'm mostly sharpening at our farmers market right now, so I need to be mobile and fast. This gives me something to consider.

Thanks for the excellent vid. Liked and subscribed. It’s probably not available in my country but useful to see what’s on the market elsewhere to give me ideas. Is that an adjustable levelling foot that’s directly below the belt? That easily openable door is a real boon if you want to have dust extraction working more efficiently and the belt removal leaver operation and position is a huge improvement. I’ve got a 1x30 that even after doing the recommended mods is a PITA to get belts on and off. What did you do to make your old 1x30 run in reverse? Is it just swapping wires or more technical?

I turned around/upside down the harbor freight to make it run edge trailing. The very low tech solution. Yes that’s a leveling foot on the bucktool.

Could you put a variable switch on your receptacle and adjust the speed on the hobo freight one. Like you would a light switch.

People have converted the harbor freight machine to using a variable speed sewing machine motor. Check out videos by Cliff Curry to find out how.

This is cool. Ty Do you have a video showing how you mount the angle guide on the HF grinder?
@HonedByJones2 ай бұрын
I don’t but if you lookup the channel Curry Custom Cutlery he does… and honestly, I think if you order one you’ll figure it out. It just slides on and is held in place firmly by a strong metal clip.

@@HonedByJones Thanks. I have one, but is only for edge leading. I guess you can order one made for edge trailing.

What kind of power requirement would one need to run this grinder in a van?
@thechumpsbeendumped.77973 ай бұрын
All the specifications are shown at 6:18. 120v, 60Hz, 2.3A. One of those rechargeable power stations that are the size of carry on luggage would power this easily. Be careful in a confined space that you either wear a mask or have extraction of some sort.

I use a Honda EU2200i powered generator or a Jackery 1000 watt solar generator depending on if I’m running the bucktool solo or if I’m running my 1x42s as well. The advantage of a large solar generator/battery bank is that you’d be able to keep it inside the van at all times. Gas generators would obviously need to be mounted outside or moved outside each time you used it.

Does the belt side tilt?
@Optimization_Coach2 ай бұрын
That would be awesome. I highly doubt it. Leading or trailing?
@HonedByJones2 ай бұрын
Nope. But you could figure out a way to tilt the whole machine pretty easily I think.
