Wow thats a big machine! It means a lot to us antique equipment guys when a company does a donation like that. RIP Silver Spade!

You don't or can't realize how blasted HUGE this thing really is until you see the person walking away from it. I have a buddy that his Dad and Grandfather worked for Bucyrus when they built the BIG ones. His Dad is in his 70's or early 80's and loves to talk about those times. I'd SAY!! A-PLUS Again! (me)

All of the draglines and shoves should be displayed this way. Instead of being cut up.

+Armon Stewart For sure, and it's too bad all the other big shovels are now gone.

I wonder, with all that weight, and it not being moved around, if the ground continuously sinks in that spot?

I think it has been sitting in that spot since 1974, so my guess is that it must be sitting on rock or it would be in the ground quite a bit by now. My 10B will sink in a couple inches just over the winter while sitting on the clay.
