Bucyrus Erie 22B dragline working

A family friend ran one in his younger days. When he started his own business, he bought and rebuilt some 22B draglines. It was great watching him work that machine.

Where you get parts? I see that’s a High Walker! I just bought one just like that and had to flip the drag & hoist linkage bc I am use to pulling lever in for drag in and pulling lever in for hoist in.

I notice it has grouzer plates instead of flate pads, is that something that Bucyrus came out with or did someone modify it and how was it done and how does it compare to the old flat pads? I have a Ruston Bucyrus 22RB Dragline here in Australia

Adrian, that is what Bucyrus calls a Hi-walker under-carriage. It has the grousers’ and increased ground clearance for working in rugged terrain.

As long as the pads are the same length, I don’t see why not. Of course the truck frame (undercarriage) on this machine is taller than normal, but I wouldn’t think you would need to change it just to get a couple more inches of ground clearance.
