I remember learning this dance, Scottish country dancing classes in Auckland, NZ back in the days when I was young and could dance 3 or 4 nights of the week. Far longer ago than I care to remember. Thanks for the memories.

,"Push the Teacher". WHY?
@robertl.6813 Жыл бұрын
@@frankdsouza2425 It's Hungarian slang for "Let's go Mr.Teacher!". I wrote it bc the man in the blue necktie on the left is my mathematics teacher. :D

Well done! But...which band supplied the excellent music? I could be wrong, but it sounds like Marian Anderson..??
@budapestscottishdanceclub8342 Жыл бұрын
You are right :-) The music came from a CD: Marian Anderson and her band - Robert Burns Dances, track #3 See here: my.strathspey.org/dd/album/945/

@@budapestscottishdanceclub8342 Many thanks for the clarification...I don't mean to carp, but, playing in a Scottish Dance Band myself, I think it's really nice to show appreciation for everyone involved, dancers and musicians alike... especially nowadays when so many enjoyable life events have been so curtailed...😊 Who knows? Maybe one day you'll be able to dance to a real live band once again...and I'm sure others would be grateful to know who to contact...😉🎶🪗🎻🎹🥁🕺💃🏴

Nicely choreographed , nicely presented BUT far too sedate. Scottish country dancing is anything but, it s joyful, full of life , exhausting sometimes verges on the wild but sedate, never.

I fear you may have a point, Eileen. One that the excellent musicians and dancers might do well to ponder upon?

I am not sure Miss Milligan and Mrs Stewart would agree with you... are you thinking of a Ceilidh? The beauty of SCD is that you can do it on a wide spectrum from elegant to LET'S GO!!!

@@ginger2lily Back when I was doing Scottish country dancing this was one of the slower dances we did, to get our breath back between the faster, more energetic dances. And our tutor was a professional dancing teacher who trained in Aberdeen - in between being a professional primary school teacher as well. The memories, lovely to see the dance again.
