Is Budapest expensive compared to Frankfurt or about the same?

I would say renting a home is much cheaper in Budapest (for the locals it's still expensive) compared to Germany. The grocery prices in the last couple of years unfortunately became closer to the ones in Germany. Eating at restaurants and cafes in Budapest is cheaper especially if you avoid the main touristy areas :)
