🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 Thank you for the question. Vajrapani is in all lineages and teachings of Mahayana Buddhism. Guru Rinpoche transmitted many Mahayana and Vajrayana teachings to the land of snows. The Vajra Armor mantra featured in this short practice is attributed to Guru Rinpoche. Of course, you know they both hold a vajra. Guru Rinpoche terma teaching have several practices. Guru Rinpoche brought Vajrayana (as well as Mahayana) which is often called "Secret" teachings -- not because they're a secret, but because they require instruction and guidance. Vajrapani is often called "the Lord of Secrets" and protects the teachings. Both are Enlightened Beings, and as such can appear in numerous forms, and ultimately, at the Dharmakaya, they are oneness. There is no doubt Vajrapani teachings were transmitted by Guru RInpoche and many of his practices come to us through the lineages of Guru Rinpoche, although Vajrapani is a Sutra Bodhisattva and disciple of Shakyamuni Buddha, appearing even in early Pali Sutta and many, many, many Mahayana Sutras. He is often the one asking the questions, especially notably in the Mahavairochana Sutra. He is, most famously, one of the Three Great Bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. He is the "power" of all the Buddhas of all times. (Avalokiteshvara is the Compassion of the Buddhas, and Manjushri is the Wisdom.) We have one of our older documentaries on Vajrapani here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmmbe6CtqcR0eqc&t If you feel close to both, this is natural. They are both vajra holders, Enlightened and powerful. Hope this small comment helps. In kindness, BW 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
