is there a book Lama Zasep wrote with all of these mantras? I love this teachings
@BuddhaWeekly5 сағат бұрын
These mantras are cited from the teachings of Lama Zopa Rinpoche in the book: Rinpoche, Lama Zopa. The Power of Mantra: Vital Practices for Transformation (Wisdom Culture Series) Wisdom Publications. On Amazon (this is an affiliate link, but you can look it up separately): amzn.to/3VZNsLK These are from Lord Atisha's lineage, the most popular of 21 Tara teachings. Zasep Rinpoche has a 21 Tara's book on the Surya Gupta lineage, which is a more involved practice from the mahasiddha Surya Gupta. (In this system, we have these mantras as a separate series, chanted by Yoko Dharma -- and each Tara is a longer practice due to the visualization of each. We have a plalylist of each mantra here: kzbin.info/aero/PL8d71VyWOwkFp76ucMru3YZpOkcVvkFhN On Amazon, you'll find it here: amzn.to/4fHEUQI If you're interested in the Nyinmg lineagel Rachael Wooten (Phd) has the excellent book Tara The Liberating Power of the Female Buddha. amzn.to/3W2BeCp We cite Bokar Rinpoche's book often and his book is the source of our chanting of the 21 Tara Dharani (the 21 Tara praise as it's called today)(Video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZonPiqCXaq2KlbM). His superb and beautiful book (with rescue stories, very lovely) is "Tara the Feminine Divine) on Amazon: amzn.to/4fBs8U0

Thank you very much for this video, indeed. One question please. There seems to be a MANTRA and then you mention a slightly longer DHARANI.....is that right? Could you please pass me/us a link to this Sutra where we can find both the MANTRA and the Dharani or the exact title in English and Sanskrit of it exists? Sorry too many things I asked for. Thank you very much. A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 TO ALL OF YOU. MAY ALL BEINGS BE HAPPY 🍀🍀🍀🪷🪷🪷

🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏 HAPPY NEW YEAR. May you have an auspicious, healthy 2025. We do cite the source in our documentary on Akshobhya Buddha, which is worth a listen if you haven't gone through it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6mpoHt3dtajqKM It's very informative. The source of that Dharani is from the Akshobhya Tathagata Pure Land Sutra . There are different Akshobhya Dharanis (as for all Buddhas) supplicating different requests. Of course there's a Dharani in the great Shurangama Mantra Sutra, and his Name Praise in the Mahavairochana Sutra, but the one we chanted in the videos, and the one cited most often by teachers is from the Akshobhya Tathagata Pure Land Sutra, as it's widely transmitted in modern teachings and recommended for it's purifying karma benefits and other strong benefits. It is found in Sutra 6 in the Māhāratnakūṭa is The Dharma-Door of Praising Tathagata Akṣhobhya’s Merits as well. The only translation I have of this is an old one A Treasury of Mahāyāna Sūtras: Selections from the Mahāratnakūta Sūtra which is a fairly pricey hardcover. I'm not sure about English translations, but I believe 84000.co has a translation but it might be named slightly different. Thank you for your kind words. 🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏

*1.* Can I chant using right hand ? Is it right because My left hand is not so used to do any tasks. I have used my right hand for everything since childhood. It would be very difficult to chant with the left hand. *2.* We have to face towards which direction during chanting?
@BuddhaWeekly17 сағат бұрын
1. yes (it's symbolic left only (they really mean your passive hand if you're left handed, then your right) but it's not an issue. I switch when I'm tired on one hand. 2. No. Happy New Year. 🙏🙏🙏

Using which should I chant this mantra, because I have seen a video of your channel. In which you have quoted the teachings of guru Rinpoche, that for different purpose we should use different fingers. *But which finger should we use for his(vajra guru/guru Rinpoche) own mantra.*

Quick answer as I'm off...... any finger except index is fine, but usually middle finger.

🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 Dear Dharma Friend, It is so hard to advise without knowing a person, so it's good (when you can) to find a qualified teacher). Having said that, based on what you wrote (here and earlier), it seems like you were drawn to Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava, and this seems like the perfect point for you to start. Why? His mantra is called the wish-fulfilling mantra (By Padmasambhava himself), and I'll paste a link to where we mention that), but I pasted it below for you:. He also taught the Lady, the essence meaning on MANY levels of this great and powerful mantra: “O, Noble Daughter, the Vajra Guru mantra is not only my essential mantra, it is the life-essence of the deities of the four classes of tantra, the nine vehicles, the 84,000 aspects of the Dharma, and so on. The heart essence of all the Buddhas of the three times, the lamas, deities, ḍākinīs, Dharma protectors, and the like is encompassed by this mantra. The reason for this is as follows. Listen well and hold this in your heart. Recite the mantra. Write it. Tell it to sentient beings in the future.... OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ is the supreme essence of enlightened body, speech and mind. VAJRA is the supreme essence of the Vajra Family.GURU is the supreme essence of the Ratna Family. PADMA is the supreme essence of the Padma Family.SIDDHI is the supreme essence of the Karma Family. HŪṂ is the supreme essence of the Buddha Family. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ is the complete Sambhogakāya of the Five Buddha Families. ĀḤ is the complete unchanging Dharmakāya. HŪṂ is the complete Nirmāṇakāya-Guru Rinpoche. VAJRA is the complete assembly of Heruka deities. GURU is the complete assembly of Lama Awareness Holder deities. PADMA is the complete assembly of Ḍākinīs and powerful female deities. SIDDHI is the heart of all the wealth deities and protectors of hidden treasures. HŪṂ is the heart of each and every Dharma protector. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ is the heart of the three classes of tantra. VAJRA is the heart of the Vinaya and Sūtra. GURU is the heart of the Abhidharma and the Kriyā Yoga. PADMA is the heart of the Upā and Yoga Tantras. SIDDHI is the heart of the Mahā and Anu Yogas. HŪṂ is the heart of the Dzogchen Ati Yoga. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ purifies obscurations of the three mental poisons. VAJRA purifies obscurations of hatred and aversion.GURU purifies obscurations of pride. PADMA purifies obscurations of craving and attachment.SIDDHI purifies obscurations of jealousy. HŪṂ purifies obscurations of delusion and disturbing emotions. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ grants the attainment of the three kāyas. VAJRA grants the attainment of mirror-like wisdom. GURU grants the attainment of the wisdom of equanimity. PADMA grants the attainment of the wisdom of discernment. SIDDHI grants the attainment of all-accomplishing wisdom. HŪṂ grants the attainment of all that stems from primordial wisdom. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ subdues gods, spirits, and human beings. VAJRA conquers the gandharvas and fire spirits. GURU conquers the lord of death and demonic spirits. PADMA conquers the harmful water gods and spirits who reign over the mind. SIDDHI conquers the powerful demons who haunt mountain ranges and passes. HŪṂ conquers the planetary demons and gods of localities. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ By OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ, the six transcendent perfections are accomplished. By VAJRA, all peaceful activities are accomplished.By GURU, all enriching activities are accomplished. By PADMA, all magnetizing activities are accomplished. By SIDDHI, all enlightened activities are accomplished. By HŪṂ, all wrathful activities are accomplished. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ crushes the forces of the five poisons. VAJRA crushes the forces of hatred and aversion. GURU crushes the forces of pride. PADMA crushes the forces of craving and attachment. SIDDHI crushes the forces of jealousy. HŪṂ crushes the forces of gods, demons and humans. OṂ ĀḤ HŪṂ VAJRA GURU PADMA SIDDHI HŪṂ One recitation of the Vajra Guru mantra will grant a physical body and entry into this world. Any sentient being who sees, hears, or thinks of the mantra will definitely be established among the ranks of the male and female Awareness Holders. The infallible Vajra Guru mantra is the word of truth... (truncated due to KZbin limits on text.) See our feature on BuddhaWeekly.com for full list of benefits and Guru Rinpoche's teaching: buddhaweekly.com/vajra-guru-mantra/ He is the glorious Lotus Born, in every way complete as a practice and as an Enlightened Guru and Buddha both. 1 HOUR mantra chanting of this precious mantra: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHLceIFjj8-paJo You can enhance that mantra session with the Padmasmbhava praise Dharani, which we chant here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYGym6OOYs2Mjq8 Of course, if you're serious about practice, normally begin with what are called the Foundations practices or "Ngondro" and Lamrim. Depending on lineage, they vary slightly, but there are four foundational understandings, and then usually your teacher will ask you to undertake foundation practices (such as Vajrasattva for purification -- and, by the way, Vajrasattva is also a complete practice), and prostrations, offerings and so on. The four Foundations are: The first foundation is understanding the significance of being born as a human being and not as some other animal. It also involves recognizing the obligations that come with this precious birth. The second foundation is realizing what is permanent and worthwhile in our lives as opposed to what is transitory. Clearly, to cultivate and pursue what is transitory is a waste of time and can even create obstacles. The third foundation is understanding karma; without understanding this law of cause and effect, there would be no motivation for helping others or avoiding harmful acts. Without understanding how we generate both positive and negative karma, we cannot possibly know what path to take towards permanent happiness. The fourth foundation is understanding thoroughly our daily behavior and our present view of the world to see how it prevents us from achieving results on the Buddhist path. This is codified in structured teachings and practices. For example, in the short Guru Rinpoche practice video you're commenting on, in those few minutes are all of the foundations as the 7 limbs or practice. This is getting long. I wish you well on your jouney, and please search our channel for other info (we now have nearly 800 videos here! In kindness, BW 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

How to use vajra and bell? Are they compulsory to use or I can skip them
@BuddhaWeeklyКүн бұрын
🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏The true vajra is compassion and method and the true bell is wisdom. If you have Bodhisattva conduct -- compassion and metta for all sentient beings -- you have the vajra. If you study Dharma, sutra and the teachings, you have wisdom. The Bell and vajra themselves are symbols of our commitment to Bodhisattva Method and Wisdom. In other words, you have them already if you practice. In kindness, BW🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

What are the basics items needed in these practises ? I live in hostel that's why I'm not having anything right now, please tell 😔 I will arrange it in one minute. I'm not having any issue in arranging, so please guide me. Can I use portrait of deities instead of their idols. **Portrait of which deities should I keep in my room shrine?**
@BuddhaWeekly23 сағат бұрын
🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏 Mind and body is what you need, rather than shrines and objects (they're nice to have, but those are just "practice supports".). Mind you need to develop wisdom and body to do right activities and right conduct (the four generosities, the eightfold path, the Bodhisattva path, and so on.) Everything else are called practice support. Even the portrait or shrine is a practice support. Even though Dharma objects are sacred, the true Dharma is wisdom and conduct (activities of compassion). So, you can certainly practice, by visualizing (or if you cant' visualize, just "know" the deity is with you) and then making visualized offerings. The real secret, is to practice with commitment. The great Yogis and teachers, from Buddha himself to the Mahasiddhis to the sages of Tibeta -- all of the Mahasiddhas, they practiced in the wilderness, in caves, under trees, in the moonlight. Why? Because -- if we can put aside our attachment to luxury, to things, to objects (including even Dharma objects) we have more wisdom. The true wisdom is to practice with mind and body, with wisdom and right conduct and Bodhisattva activities. This is one reason, for example, the King of all Practices is The King of Prayers (Samantrabhadra's aspiration) because it describes the 7 limbs or practice (the seven practices of Homage and Prostration (1) , Offerings (to build our merit (2) , Confessing our downfalls (we all need to confess, even if it's just to ourselves) so that we can adjust our conduct (3) , Rejoicing in the teachings (and the teachers who came before) (4) Requesting the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas teach us (5), and Requesting they remain with us as long as there is suffering (6), Dedicating the merit of your practice to all sentient beings. A good starting point is to practice the King of Prayers -- we have an explanation here in Sanskrit -- and try to visualize (no need for an altar or shrine): kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3nSXniAhZulaqc We also have it chanted for 1 hour in a video in Sanskrit (Chanting in Sanskrit is a way to focus the mind): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJm6oXqFgMRogaM&t Hope that helps. In kindness, BW🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
