I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the team for making it possible for us to witness these ancient heritages. I am a Tibetan myself . I have throughly enjoyed every part of the video. Every murals clearly depicted tantric practitioners once lead ascetic life in these caves. Although large amount of buddhist texts are intact where meanings of the text are also within our reach of understanding through a teacher.However i often hear from Gurus how important lineage practices are being lost with the passing centuries. This video is closest up-close experience To witness with my own eyes in disbelief how important lineages crucial for our spiritual upliftment just disappeared as narrated in this video from simple things like local people not knowing any oral history about these important caves, caves where highly accomplished masters must have resided is a complete shock. It actually brought tears in my soul to see extreme decline of buddhism in Mustang which is a great loss for every buddhist world.

A total amount of time and dedication is What defines a men’s soul spirit To be the one who is studying the choo (studies of buddhist teaching) and ppl driven towards its purpose . Hats off to all the ppl involved in it ,actually to speak of from a Buddhist point of view . The gift of acquaintances of such kind is extremely rare and a blessing of some kind were the purpose is a total good intent. It is indeed a good feeling after watching this heart warming doc were core existence of communication differences ,individuals purpose of life dominance of good n blindness of money the main focus shift (God) =Money in this so called modern times have been the biggest fall to pry upon as seen but who can be blamed for it ??? I shall surly take this as how we can still see goodness in beings who is hope for a better world . Much love to the two kids n definition of fine parenting in brief sums up.. Fabulous find, more history that was not lost. All licenses around the world without a contract are extortion. I was waiting for the money card, a typical sign of the lack of reverence for the cave. Documenting the cave for the world is priceless, but gifts for locals to ease the hardships would be smart. Hope they fed their families.

+Nang Sam Phoo THEY didn't "find" it! The locals knew it was there- they were telling them at the beginning of this shameful ethnocentric "documentary". I studied anthropology at university- this would not give you a 'pass' mark in 1st year. Things still exist and are 'known' about even before Americans "discover" them. I'm a Buddhist and this is an interesting subject but I cannot watch anymore of these idiots.

Namaste Ki Ke.....well spoken.
@guerrillapress778 жыл бұрын
+ki ke exactly. I don't believe they intended to make it seem as though they discovered these things, they use the term discover from the point of view of the westerners who didn't know of the existance or if they did, didn't know the location of these caves and their content, no matter how you see it, these westerners have brought the existance of these caves and their content to the outside world. seems someone may have an underlying contempt for westerners and has allowed this contempt to cloud his ability to see this without allowing said contempt to skew his views, does that not make this persons contempt no better than the ethnocentric westerners he critisizes?? just a thought.

The Buddha absolutely rejected the caste system, as the Buddha said well over 2,500 years ago, "All beings are born equal, No one is born higher than anyone else!" Buddha was also born into Royalty, as a Prince, and he could have been a Maharajah or Great King one day if he wanted too as well, but he Also rejected this as well too! Buddha said, well over 2,500 years ago, "All beings value their lives, All beings tremble when faced with death, therefore Never hurt, harm or kill any living being!" This is the Great practice of Ahimsa or Non harm to others! The Buddha said, "Any Brahmana who hurts, harms or kills another, is Not a True Sadhu or holy one, you are Not a True Brahmana or Sadhu or holy one, if you hurt, harm or kill another!" "The Buddha said, "The True Religion is love!" The Buddha said , "Go forth my Bikkhus-Buddhist Monks, and teach and spread love and compassion in every direction all over the Whole World, for the good, happiness and Welfare of the Whole World, this my Bikkhus you should do!" The Buddha said, "Give your clothes to those who do not have any clothes, your food to the hungry, and build shelters for those who do my have any homes!" The Buddha said, "Social Work and the helping of others is the highest good karma that anyone can do in their lives, the helping of others is the highest good that one can do in their lives and the highest good karma that anyone can do, is the helping of others!" The Buddha said, "No matter how much someone hurts you, Never hurt them back!" The Buddha said, "Two wrongs do not make a right!" Most Ancient Greeks after conquering India became Buddhist Monks or Bikkhus and they spread Buddhism All along the Silk Road in all Directions, including All of the Middle East, Greece, Europe, Egypt, Persia, Afghanistan and Many other Ancient Countries and Ancient Lands! The Ancient Greeks built statues of the Buddha in the Ancient World, well over 2,000 years ago in Afghanistan, they were built there by Ancient Greek Kings! Ancient Greek Culture, Religion and Western Civilisation is Built, Established and Founded on Ancient Buddhism, and that is a TRUE FACT, which has been so Deceitfully hidden from the World!

It is trivial for the advanced yogis, Your ancient culture was destroyed by abhramic faiths perhaps in very distant paths your tribe will also had some advance yogis, Now this knowledge is restricted to elites. However through hard penance you can still obtain higher knowledge but that too will be limited as this is dark age and elites have full control of your life.
@ancientcivilization92454 жыл бұрын
It is coincidental as per the ancient scriptures of hindus just after the start of dark age abhramic faiths popped up, signifying that they will bring darkness to this world which they did eventually.

then raise your children to actually live life instead of digging their heads in mobile laptops n tablets. You are not just an observer watching all of life and society pass you by while you stand on the side lines, helpless. YOU are an ACTIVE participant in society and life. How you conduct yourself and how you treat others and raise your kids IS LIFE AND IS SOCIETY. YOU make up society and life so do as ghandi states and be the change you want to see in the world.

There is no Closed Captioning so I have no idea what is being said. I noticed that they had to climb up this soft crumbling wall to get access to the caves. Assuming way back then it might have been a simple hill to hike up to the caves. All these years weather passing through the area had wash away the hills or footsteps to the caves? Was this possible?

At 42:20 Archaic script? That script is NOT archaic,it’s regular Tibetan.Even with my very limited ability I could read a few words when I freeze framed it . If any thing those pechas or pages are 100 to a few hundred years old . How did they get there? Probably some monk or Yogi decided to do a retreat there and he brought his books for study and practice. He may have passed away during the retreat and so the books were left there.

There are some Buddhist scripture recorded the custom , culture , history facts of India at old time , because Hinduism do not have custom to record the history , today to know about them , historians have to rely on those Buddhist scriptures . In a preaching , Buddha himself described the way to make and dye the fabric .
@Unionst88085 жыл бұрын
So Rigzin, I bet if you freeze framed this video you could easily read those pechas. I’m saying they are not archaic or ancient and we’re probably left there from some one doing a retreat or even maybe a Jindak putting them there to consecrate the place.

The Scientist used the microscope, the explorer uses the map, the archaeologist uses the camera, the Buddhist embraces the moment for where he is and feels the presence of those before him and what it meant for them to get there and what they hoped to take away. He is the medium in which it is recorded.
@oldmanfromscenetwentyfour81646 жыл бұрын
Yea sure but the Buddhist can't tell you what is seen in the microscope, what is dug out of the earth and recorded on camera or what is on the scrolls in the caves. How can a Buddhist feel the presence of those that came before him if he has NO FUCKING CLUE WHO THEY WERE!!
