Think of how powerful Buddhism must be when a nation of billions with an army and navy sees a peaceful group of monks teaching kindness, as a threat. I bet u could visit every country and religion but this one would stick with u a lifetime
@evaleyst7 ай бұрын
Would be nice, but the Chinese simply clubbed them down. Buddhism also adapted self-defense; why? Because the example of people who work on their own character, striving for enlightenment, often stirs up the aggression of others who connect their suffering with being evil. It is because they believe that doing violence to others will bring them relief, not knowing it makes things worse. This is why the techniques of liberation have been kept secret. This is why meditation was given to chosen disciples who first of all were trained in compassion, patience, and resilience. The masters took care of them.

China doesn’t see it as a threat, just so that they can lord over it for territory gains. People are misled by propaganda, on both sides. The original Tibetan leaders are no better themselves. It’s a medieval feudalism before communism took over, with abject poverty.

That's a pretty judgemental statement, (Presumed) Westerner. I don't think even the Dalai Lama defends the former system, which did, indeed, exploit the labor of ordinary, faithful Tibetans. Simply attributing any critique of earlier periods of Tibetan history to the 'Western Mind', is black-and-white thinking, IMHO. The fact that the Chinese system was worse doesn't make the earlier system flawless. Two wrongs don't make a right. The Chinese are, at this very moment, exterminating the culture of the Muslim Uighurs in a similarly-brutal manner. Few are calling attention to this. Possibly since those people are Muslims and viewed as less deserving of human rights. Possibly because there's no money to be made on tourism the same way there is with Tibetan Buddhism.

Thank you for this beautiful documentary! The amazing prediction over 1500 years ago: When the iron bird fly in the sky, the Dharma will go to West! I feel sad as I know the situation of Tibetans and monasteries is much worsen now! I pray for the Tibetans and long live the Holiness Dalai Lama! Tibet will be free from the tyranny!

Pray for these amazing holy people! In the words of Gandhi, "When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall - think of it, always." Long live Tibet and long live Truth!

China is only stronger, not with the suppression of difference, but through the embrace of its history and culture, this includes the people and culture of Tibet. Please allow the Dhali Lama to return home. Allow them to choose their next spiritual leaders. It's not too late.

On the contrary Buddhadharma is, and always will be stronger than communism and China or any other communist country.
