I grew up in a Buddhist family. Someone told me that Jesus was God. I hate that they told me Jesus is God and didn't want to hear it. I learned how to pray , meditate, worship all day and night for Buddha religion. Everybody did it in my country and family did it. Then One day I got seriously ill, I had problems with my intestines and thyroid. Inside my mind, I know I don't have much time left in this world. at that moment I pray. Whatever I do, please, let me live on I don't want to die. And then I started reminiscing about the past. I think of my idol that I have respected for my whole life I've been begging for things since I was a child until an adult My idol never answered my prayers , not even once. in the doctrine of my and other religion. they teach Every all religion to be a good person. Now I know who is God, I have experience from my healing, I ask all God. Only Jesus answered me, now I know he is real God. All he wants you to comeback to him, he don't need nothing from you only to trust in him. . That he really love you and paid his life to get back to the blessings that you suppose to have.

But Master Ajahn Brahm, if you get a promotion, you don't necessarily get more stress, you just get more responsibility. What you do with it is up to you.
@michigandersea34852 жыл бұрын
I don't think he would ever say, "absolutely never take a promotion." I think he's trying to teach people to value calm, relaxation, and not endless striving without breaks. In a society where everyone is telling you to reach for greater prestige and a higher position, he's talking about the bad side of prestige and promotion, and he's right. He also says "let go, unless you're riding on the back of a speeding motor scooter." In other words, be reasonable. We all need to survive and contribute our fair share, at the very least.

Thoughts ... negative thinking. I often think about suicide. I often think about wanting someone to help me. But then, I ask myself “what kind of help do you want/need? What kind of help are you looking for? Can someone truly help you? Or do you need to help yourself? I’m like a man drowning. {If you’re drowning, learn how to swim. Right there... right now}.

My good neighbour bought a brand new top- model Range Rover last week.I should be happy for him but I am full of envy and jealous. He's upset me as I only have an average VW. I congratulated him and smiled but I'm seething inside. The worst thing is he's a very nice guy. Will meditation help me overcome my character flaw? I didn't like my reaction, in fact I hated it. Is my reaction simply human nature, another negative emotion ?
@lov2us4 жыл бұрын
It's natural for us humans to have negative thoughts and emotions we do not like from time to time. Being aware of your feelings is a very good start. When this happens in your mind, just be aware of it. Observe how it comes about and how you feel inside your mind like a non-judging observant and let that go. This helps you to understand the process and let go more easily. If you can do this often, the better you learn how such negative perception builds up in your mind and the quicker you can let go. At last, this becomes more automatic. Sadhu.
