In this today's interview session, Buddy Duress share with us his experience in Rikers, working experience with Safdie Brothers, and the complication of shooting "Flinch". So let's deep dive into the video to know more about Buddy Duress from him.
Writer and Director Cameron Van Hoy of Ardor Pictures talks with actor Buddy Duress while he awaits trial for a bank robbery at Rikers Island. He is well known for his roles in the Safdi Brother films, "Heaven Knows What" and "GoodTime" opposite Robbert Pattinson, his next appearance will be in "Flinch," coming January 2021. His on-screen performances representing criminals and addicts closely resembles his real life.
In this five-part vlog series, Buddy discusses his life, career, trouble with the law, and the most recent charges of bank robbery.
Safdie’s handmade cinematic world is full of characters that can be selfish, self-destructive, calamitous to anyone foolish enough to enter their orbit. And yet there is a pull to these people, a raw charisma from which it’s really goddamn hard to turn away.
The Safdie Brothers have been preparing their whole lives to create the most of Safdie's stuff, it is not a passive movie-going experience. Pattinson's primary co-star in Good Time is a Queens local named Buddy Duress. After working with the Safdies, Buddy began studying with the experience of Rikers Island.
His first time in Rikers was a decade ago, for petty larceny. He’s been sent there some 10 times on charges ranging from heroin possession to identity theft. In fact, he was at Rikers when his big break, “Heaven Knows What,” premiered at the New York Film Festival in 2014.
