Love the grin when he thinks he has painted himself into a corner with a particularly complicated passage... but pulls it off perfectly every time. Nobody ever played E9th prettier than Buddy.

NO one ever played as "pretty" as Buddy Emmons! There will have NEVER been ANY steel player that ever lived that can play as"pretty" as Buddy Emmons; and that includes living or dead. EVER!

Buddy did so much for the pedal steel guitar. His style was brilliant. Saw him live once in the UK, with the Everly Brothers and Albert Lee. His harmonics surrounded the theatre.

Yes it was the "gifts" of Jesus that caused Buddy to become THE greatest steel player that will EVER have lived. And that includes those unborn!

Many years ago a noted musical "critic" said, 'Vladimir Horowtiz" was the greatest piano player, living or dead"!. Whereupon, a zealous reporter took the critic to task when he said, "Have you heard every pianist?" The critic paused a moment and said, "Perhaps I was not atoll definitive enough; because I forgot to add, THOSE YET UNBORN!". To which I shall add, "IF Buddy Emmons had chosen the piano as his choice of musical instruments; this critic would have had to EAT his words". Finis!
