Wow! What a treat. I went to school in Charlottesville and was lucky enough to see him several times there and 1x in DC around the time the red record came out. It was crazy, but at a couple of those gigs in the summer, maybe 20 people were there. As a young guitarist, my mind was totally blown. Loved when he had Evan Johns in the band who was a great singer and foil for Danny as well as a fierce player in his own right.

I had the privileged to see Danny multiple times at the original Birchmere before it burned to the ground. There was a door to the right of the stage that you could hang by and try to catch Danny to get an autograph. One night we were waiting and Danny invited us back into what was considered the Green room for the place and we just hung out and drank some beers. He was just like an old friend. Get a few beers in him and he was just a regular guy, loved to talk about cars.

I’m not a guitarist can’t play a note but there is something about Danny that just made him tops in my book playing with buddy emmons seems to bring out the best in Danny another one is the recording Danny made in 92 with top jazz cats called New York stories where Danny plays strictly jazz with a country flair it’s one of the best jazz albums ever made listen to it I think you’ll agree it’s great

If this was promotional vid, and if Danny gatton was born in Oct 1945. Say Danny gatton is 29 or 30 years old (at the time of this film) It be 1975 -76 latest. I have NO clue. If Danny Gatton is only 20 years old this would’ve been filmed 1965 crust
