Buddy Hield in the 2018-19 NBA season looked like a borderline star. He was putting up very good numbers and shooting the lights out, but he has yet to produce another season like that one. It's more than just that, Luke Walton's system turned Buddy Hield into a ball-handler instead of an off-ball superstar he excels at, similarly to Klay Thompson. It meshed perfectly with Fox's lightning quickness and ability to get to the rim at will. Everytime I see Buddy run a Pick-n-Roll instead of curling off a flare screen, I always get angry the Kings fired Dave Joeger

Thats mainly bcs of coaching change, he was phenomenal in Dave Joegers fast pace offense and then Luke Walton come, one of the most overrated and generally one of the worst coaches today, plus Bogdanovic was taking more and more his minutes

I don't know why the Kings fired Joeger, he took this Kings team the closest they have been to the playoffs in over a decade. Luke slowed down the pace of a team that wants to play around one of the fastest players in the league, and even had Buddy running Pick-n-Roll with Holmes and Bagley instead of having him run around screens to spread the floor. Only reason Luke's incompetence isn't nearly as criticized as it should be is because Boylen somehow kept his job all last season

Last year after his contract he went downhill. Part of it could have been bc he was trying to outgun bogi everynight. As a kings fan i have been impressed with him this year. While his stats have gone down he has played a lot more like a team player and has been pretty solid for us.

I am a Laker fan, and I saw what a terrible job Luke Walton did back when he was the Lakers' coach. He doesn't assign roles to players, and he basically says that all playing time is up for grabs, you just have to prove that you are worthy of them. Sounds okay on paper, but what ends up happening is that nobody knows what they are supposed to be, and nobody feels any sense of security, because their minutes could be cut without warning. I've seen the Laker players fighting for touches, fighting for their own numbers, because if they didn't they wouldn't be getting playing time. Walton's coaching philosophy simply just does not foster good team chemistry, but rather it encourages teammates to compete against each other.

Until a few days ago I was wanting the Pacers to ship Dipo to Sacramento for Heild. As your video states he's not happy in his current situation & has a coach & organization he feels doesn't believe in him. His fall in production can probably be attributes to that. I think in a new situation he would get back to all star level form. And the Pacers would have been a good fit for him. He wouldn't have the pressure of having to be the guy (not that he can't handle that) but on any given night that could happen cause that's the kind of of team Indy has. No superstars just 5 guys capable of having an all star season. Heild would have fit right in there just like LaVert will. Hopefully Buddy gets a chance somewhere else before his prime is over.
