SInce you listened to both Richie Valens and Buddy Holly, you should finish the trio by listening to the Big Bopper doing "Chantilly Lace". Another great song by one of the founding fathers of rock 'n' roll.

@@jackrasbeary4156 . This is easily my favorite Buddy Holly song, the beat from beginning to end just grabs you, I can be laying on my couch and the beat makes me move my feet, his other songs are great too but if I had to choose only one this easily my favorite.

Buddy was from Texas. Anything thing that wasn't country or gospel was shunned. Buddy broke those barriers. A true maverick for his time.

My music teacher at school was obviously a huge Buddy Holly Fan.😁 We were singing "Peggy Sue", "That'll be the day" and "It's so easy" in the school choir. We had so much fun singing these old songs which were hits long before our time!

He had a great break-up song, It Doesn’t Matter Anymore, written by Paul Anka. I listened to that over and over after a girlfriend broke up with me in college back in the late 80’s. Buddy did get married to a women, Maria Elena, that he met at a record company in New York. I believe she was pregnant when he died.

In the days when Bands used to tour the Country this song was a must to start the Concert & end the Concert. Regardless of who the Band was.

That was exactly right. Even if it was some famous Band to do a show. Otherwise, the crowd wouldn't let them start.

Hi there. Ok just watched your video. 2 years on. Just to let you know Buddy met his wife and Maria Elaina who he proposed to on their first date. They were married and Maria was pregnant when Buddy passed away. On hearing the new Maria suffered a miscarriage. Buddy wrote True Love Ways for Maria. Check it out if you haven’t already. Thank you

Buddy Holly was Right at the beginning of Rock n Roll phenomenon. Prior to him and a few others like Elvis Presley & Jerry Lee Lewis, Folk, Crooners, Jazz and Classical music were your only choices. My sister bought Rock home when I was 8 years old, and nothing really change again until the Beatles, and then the World went haywire, very happily so, until Punk took music, From Love songs to Angry & Hatefilled Protest “songs”.

I loved your reaction, reminds me of my own, back in the 70s, when I discovered Buddy (While my contemporaries were into that heavy metal crap) I was a young teen then and some 45 yrs later, Buddy is still my fave and his biggest hit "That'll be the day" is still my favourite song.
