I love this music. It resonates within me. All of us Indians have the same experience. Shrine of democracy, Land of the Free. But not for you and me...

Have you been to Bette's kitchen near Manderson? Bette is a great great neice or something. She is also a great cook and hostess! The people we stayed with in both 2008 & 2009 knew Buddy Red Bow. Black Elk got left behind in England - (or was it France - I read that he spent some time in France) - when he travelled with Buffalo Bill to Europe. Black Elk may have been in Newcastle, England, as the show was there. That's near where we live.

No.But I went to a lot of places in 1987 and visited with many people. Some people I interviewed and used their primary references in a paper, but did not use names.I connected an epidemiological longitudinal study of disease and how it may have changed with the oral record changing in the last 100 yrs. Is the perception of disease changing and what interventions can we undertake to meet the medical needs in the future. So much of the oral history was recordered without reference to individuals.

Put an Indian on Mt Rushf...a beautiful, huge, rock mountain the whites carved their hero’s on...and made a tourist trap. It could have been a beautiful rock, worth more than any rubber hatchet.
