Absolutely amazing case for money, looks, quality and functionality, all there. A set of 2 ARGB fans is at least £20 alone. Cheapest tempered glass case (without fans) on Amazon is £27, with questionable quality and looks. Great review as well. Thanks

Deepcool Matrexx 30 is 30 euros here, pretty decent one actually, but no PSU shroud(which can even be good thing for GPU temps in a mATX case), no RGB and only 1 exaust fan

@Goose i went with BeQuiet Pure Base 500DX, but Corsair 4000D Airflow is also a solid option in your price bracket. NZXT H510 Flow was also launched not long ago. LianLi Lancool II as well, if you find a deal.

@Goose I would. It's a good case for the money. I'm a 100% fan of CM cases but for 1st builds I would definitely recommend any Corsair case. Corsair's chassis are known for being made for anyone to be able to build a PC on them no matter the experience.

u shouldn't.. most of the negatives he points out are 100% his personal grudges, the amount of rubber clips (now days most ppl use M2s and at tops 1 mechanical or 1 ssd) the complain about fan placements, the pci covers not being able to be removed after installing motherboard (due to not fallowing the instructions given) I could go on but its pointless...

It's up to YOU to work out if those features and opinions match your requirements, and if the case suits you. Just because I don't like a feature or design, doesn't mean you shouldn't. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because I have one opinion, it doesn't mean I think it's correct, it's just what I think. Been looking for a budget case for my first build, somebody recommended this case, looked for a review and found this. Surprisingly high quality production value, very deserving of a sub! If you are looking for some constructive criticism though, I would try and enunciate more clearly, as well as move the mic slightly closer to you (unless you don't have a good pop filter, in which case, oh well.)

Great review... I have the Cooler Master NR400 case, which is strikingly similar in layout to this case... in fact, aside from some missing cable management grommets in the MB311L case, i'd say the base chassis IS the same as the NR400... only the front panel seems to be different. In regards to changing the front fans post-build... YES... I've actually done it a few times (I'm always playing with fans) and it is difficult, but the bottom fan can be changed without tearing the system apart if you use a decent right-angle screwdriver.

Building my first PC waiting for parts to come in. I am getting this case but want to get an RGB exhaust fan for the rear. If I get a cooler master PMW 120mm like these front ones will I need to order anything else to get the rgb working? I have a B550M pro VDH wifi motherboard. Essentially what do I need to do to get the RGB the same on all 3 fans? Could this be possible using a different brand RGB exhaust fan as well?

The fans should be compatible with software. Coolermaster fans are compatible with Asus Aurasync so I think you're fine there. The only problem you would have is connecting them together if you don't have enough headers. You may need an aRGB hub.

Wouldn't the Hard Drive and SSD combo refer to using the rubber grommets for 2 2.5 inch SSD's and then use the side brackets to fit 2 3.5 in HDD's into the HDD cage or am I missing something?

You said the case allows for a maximum PSU size of 140mm and 160mm 4:38 but the maximum PSU size for this case is 180mm. I’m confused is there a reason why you should put a smaller one. (I used a 150mm but I’m just wondering) :)

I just realized my B450M ASRock board has the top PCIe slot ONE WHOLE SLOT LOWER than most other boards... This leaves like no room for a big GPU. Crazy.

I got one a few weeks ago. Even after watching this AND reading it in the diagram, I still forgot to punch out the PCIe slots before screwing in the mobo. I just very carefully bent them inward without scraping anything. It's ridiculous how they had to cut corners in what is otherwise such a great case, but the PCIe slots are a 1-time gig basically, so not too big a deal. I only use 1 SSD, but it's really bizarre how it only comes with enough rubber washers and grommets for like 2 SSDs I think, while it has mounts for like 8 or something. The PSU filter is really flimsy and falls out kind of easily. Every time I handle it I need to check that this filter didn't wiggle out. But for me personally? None of these cut corners affect aesthetics or performance at all in MY setup. It's the highest value case I've ever seen for $60.

If money matters, then function is always over form. $50 case with lots of fans and a good amount of front ports. Not bad. If you build your own pcs, then getting or fabricating things to improve the short comings of this case shouldn't be a problem. I'd make/get better psu filter, pop all the rear expansion slots and cover or filter unused open area, maximize air flow and temperature control the fans, and just buy extra misc. hardware (grommets,screws,brackets, etc...). I don't care if it lights up and looks pretty, fan noise is good if it means it's keeping my machine from being cooked. I will always take function over form as a pretty turd is none the less, still a turd. Nice review, good job pointing out the short falls and potential of this case. I as an engineer instantly started thinking of ways to up the performance and usability of this case.

G'day AV, just a thought about the SSD mounting, although not optimal to fit 4 you could just use 2 of the grommets & screws diagonally per drive instead of 4, but as you said how much extra would it have been to include an extra 12 of each to have 4 per drive then you could have all 7 drives populated & mounted properly, 🤔 it will be interesting to see how much Coolermaster's pricing between the plain & RGB with controller version are, as they sell these fans as a 3 pack with controller, will the price increase be cheaper than the 3 pack, P.s. you tend to pick on yourself for being picky about small things but as a reviewer that is your job, because one of those small things may be enough for a buyer to go for another product

Yeah I was thinking that too, but the grips aren't super strong, and the grommets act as small pads for the drives to sit on/rest against so having only two might leave the drives looking unevenly mounted and more easily dismounted. Now if it was the same mechanism as the one in the Q300L that would work nicely. Just a cost saving measure I think. Oh yeah, forgot to respond to the last bit :P KZbin's creator app is awful for responding to comments! I 100% agree, as a reviewer I should be able to say anything and not care. Buuuut, there are plenty of commenters out there that feel the need to criticise the criticism, and they seem to comment less if I point it all out myself :P Plus it prevents me from needing to respond to a comment like that since I've already admitted what they're commenting about, so I can have my cake and eat it too.

I’m building a computer currently with that motherboard and this case and I’ve finished everything except the fans. I got two extra ones but with the motherboard you only get one place to plug the in a fan however the case gives you a three fan splitter cable that already has the two fans attached so u only can get 1 extra fan. Once I finish I’ll get back to u about the lighting. Sry for the grammar

The NR200 has the same drive mount grommets. I think the N200 uses the same, as well as the Q300. Those toolboxes are available on the CM Store. I think the N200 has the cheapest toolbox for like $6.

This is a MATX case, the B450 Tomahawk Max is an ATX board. Your board is bigger than what the case can fit. It will not fit as you need an matx board for this.
