The best value for money for me was picking up Kia Seltos HTE diesel in 2020 for 12.75 L in Bangalore. Feature loaded - Rear A/C, twin air bag, four wheel disc brake and an excellent engine. I upgraded to Android stereo after buying , an HID upgrade for headlight. After three years did an after market Cruise control installation. The vehicle still gives me a whopping 20 kmpl in highway and around 17 kmpl in city.

Engine is the Heart of a Car, In my Opinion, It should be deciding factor between two cars based on price, not the features. Would anyone choose features which can be added later over a well refined & fuel efficient engine? Also, another major factor is running cost. Renault has the highest maintenance costs & KWID will be bad choice for entry level buyers. Usually, the owners of Renault Cars feel like a Diabetes Patient stuck to a Doctor & his medicines forever. Friend of mine, owns and regrets it now. Another Person I know works in Renault and doesn't recommend for the same reason.

That's their Strategy, sell the product at low cost and but get the cost back through maintenance cost. This is exactly told by friend who working in Renault. Despite getting offers as Renault employee he did buy it and went for Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. Actually I was very interested in buying Triber instead of a Hatchback. But, talked me out of it. Also another friend bought KWID without consulting anyone purely based on price comparison and features. Now, he regrets as the maintenance cost is huge. Everytime he has to shell out lot of money. That's the whole background. It's a middle class man dream to own a car. But, after buying with a tight budget he cannot afford to pay costs back to back from his pocket.

The best value for money i got in 2022 was hyundai verna s+ petrol. The on road price was 11.3L . At this price there was no other 4.4m car, ample boot space, 1.5L 4cylinder engine, best driving comfort, best in looks as well.
