For those of you that worry, this is a stunt double taking the place of Lucky. He is not alone in the shop, he has a camera man nearby, a safety tech ready to extinguish any fires, a makeup artist, and a gaggle of support people. And furthermore, those are safety glasses that change color when working with torches or welding. 🙂🙂

I’m surprised some states still allow single axle brakes on dual axle trailers. I recently upgraded from a single brake 7000# trailer to a 10,000# dual brake and it was a huge improvement stopping power.
@nevysnova2 жыл бұрын
I welded a receiver to the front and have a winch mounted on a plate with a receiver to slide into the receiver on the trailer (so it’s not permanent) and I use jumper cables (so I didn’t have to wire anything) and I can also put the winch in the receiver on a pick up.

Great deal on that trailer. Only better deal was mine. They paid me to haul off a trailer used once then parked next to garage for 8 years. Floor was rotten and paint faded. Took it home new floors, paint, wheels & tires got a new trailer for 1200$ minus the 250$ paid to haul away.

Coming from somebody that has nearly the same style trailer, I wish I could rebuild mine and choose the trailer fender height. Nothing sucks more than loading up a racecar and not being able to fully open the door after loading. I'd like to drop my fenders about 2-2.5" so I wouldn't have that problem.
@karriefalon77792 жыл бұрын
Lucky Dear. wached you mess with them there fenders. You shoulda used weldable Primer and coated them serfaces between the layers of the frame and the inner fender skirts. Weldable primer you can weld through it with out having to grind it shiny. check it out i use it offten when i do not want rust lines running down from things i do simular to what you did there. ya i live in canada so we see way worse weather conditions, and salt and calcium cloride on our roads, so we have way more garbage to eat up our equipement up here

It's like Deja Vu. I spent the last year rebuilding my car trailer that I inherited from someone else. Very neglected. My fenders were heavier duty but I still cut them off lowered them down 1.5 inches so you can get a damned car door open. I also have ka chunk o chunk ramps. Good idea on flipping them over. Also you should add brakes to the front axle. It would only be another hundred bucks. Honestly I've never seen a 7k car trailer with only one axle brakes. That really must have been a cheap trailer. Safety Third!

If you're worried about getting pulled over for silly things you need to get some more of the red and white sticjers on there, it is supposed to be on at least 50% of the side of the trailer per DOT regs

Under 10,000lbs, not required. Helpful, but those DOT regs don't apply.
