In an Izzet Spellslinger deck it can work if you've got enough rituals like Mana Geyser and Turnabout. Mono Black it's tougher. And either way Aetherflux Reservoir is just so much better.

Love this guy. I have a list ive been playing for a while might have some cool stuff for folks in there. Big ones you didnt mention is aetherflux reservoir, Null profusion, and entomb. Probably budget concerns on some of those but Aphotic whisps and Cremate, maybe dark dabbling too are great cause you draw a card off them as well so they work a little like Think twice in a U deck. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/toshiro-edh-mbc/ Cheers!
