when you set up your drives for RAID1 this process takes(took me about 10 hours to complete) I thought the link station was defective when I set up my two 4TB drives for raid one and the status light was orange blinking 7/8 times. of course the time it takes to complete the raid1 process will vary depending on the size of your drives, just be prepared to leave it overnight to finish the process.
