Formerly Klipsch and SVS. Currently Emotiva and SVS. It’s been the best change I’ve made in the theater room. All 7 bed layer speakers were Klipsch towers from the (cheap) Icon and Synergy line and they were super harsh in the upper frequencies. I would like to hear some of the higher end stuff from Klipsch sometime because I’m guessing they are quite a bit easier to listen to at high volume. I’m not hating on Klipsch at all here. My son’s mini home theater is all Klipsch and my living room setup is also Klipsch. I don’t think that I’d go back to any horn tweets in the theater room.

There's something to be said for neutral speakers and good directivity in sound reproduction, but sometimes you just can't beat pure dynamics, and Klipsch really nails this much of the time. Having a pair of massive subs also help a lot in that department.

I’m running the 8000f towers, 504c center, 600m for surrounds, 4 x 500SA for heights, and 2 x SPL150SW subs running on a Marantz Cinema 40 calibrated using Dirac Live with Bass Control and holy hell does my system rock. It’s almost hard to describe the sound that comes from this setup, the best way I can proudly put it, you don’t get hit with sound, you become part of the sound if that makes sense, at least when the low frequencies from the subs kick in (my room will pressurize), especially on movies such as Dune. And I have gradually built this up over time and it’s been a worthwhile journey. Klipsch are probably some of the best bang for your buck speakers out there especially with all the sales throughout the year.

Really good video guys. Just one point on physical media. I love using the discs and popping them into a player. It makes you really think about what you are about to watch. You have to do some work to take it out of the box and all the rest. You are more vested in watching it then. Also, discs act not only as the source for the media to play, but it is also the backup. So you have two in one. Unless you end up damaging the disc or losing it, I don't think there is a need to back up your films. The disc is the backup. If it gets scratched, just get another one (if you take care of your media, then they will be ok).

Thanks! I love buying discs but they get ripped and put on my movie server the minute I get home. Then they stay in my stash as a backup

@@hatoraidcowboy keep up the excellent work in making these videos. I'm based in the UK, and seeing these videos of home cinemas is informative, as we don't really have UK-based home cinema KZbin channels. It's good to see real people with real setups for a change. And also real room sizes and dimensions and how to make those spaces work.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m glad you’re enjoying the tours. Bummer there is a lack of Home Theater content in the UK! Thanks for tuning in from afar!

I love the fancy expensive tours they are aspirational. But these realistic ones make me think I can do it. Question, what is the gap between the edge of the chair and the side Walls?? I ask because it's a question never asked and I want to know how much gap is enough.

How did he hang his atmos speakers like that ? Im trying to do the same with my Klipsch speakers
9 ай бұрын
I didn’t use the keyhole on the back because they are meant for hanging the speakers on the wall and I didn’t trust the speakers not shifting with the 2 18” subs. What I did was remove the speaker from the cabinet, pre drilled a hole and used a lag bolt through the speaker cabinet and into the ceiling joist, then sealed around the bolt (since it’s a sealed speaker) and reinstalled the speaker. Super solid, but you have to be okay with putting a hole through your speaker cabinet.

I have a pair of Klipsch RP 8000f and RP 504c for the front sound stage, RP 502s for surrounds, 4 RP 500sa for Atmos, SPL 150 and a SVS PB 3000 subwoofers for a 5.2.4 setup. Had the RP 600m and RP 404c center but gave to my son for a starter system.

Nice! That’s awesome about you son, I plan on doing the same with mine when he gets older. How’s that SVS vs the SPL 150? Should be quite a bit better.
@randelldavis578

I got all of my Klipsch home theater system from audio advice in early 2022 and about 6 months the amp went out in the SPL 150. So I took the sub back to A.A. for repairs and decided to get the PB 3000, what I determined is that the svs is a noticable upgrade compared to the Klipsch. The Klipsch sub stayed in the shop for about 9 months and in that time frame I thought about getting another PB 3000 but felt like I wanted to see how the Klipsch Sub sound with the svs since my av receiver has duel independent output and I can say that they do ok together but, if the Klipsch amp goes out again I will have two svs subwoofers.
