Having been bitten by Zappiti to the tune of over 1k I'll give it a miss if it means my library is stored on the cloud and not updated locally and paying an ongoing sub each month for the poster wall. The whole reason for these sorts of players is not to rely on on-line streaming. Just now your library relies on it!

It is strange that I have never seen a review on the sound quality of emotiva. I have searched and watched a dozen or more reviews, but cannot find a single listening review. I cant get an answer from the company as to where I can go and listen to a receiver. With all the advertising it is strange that sound is never mentioned as a matter of fact I cannot remember ever seeing anyone actually playing any type of sound from an emotiva product

Found where you asked them about the loading times. Thanks for that. Terrible answer though. What benefit justifies a sub-par user experience... even then... It can still persistently cache the cloud just as he suggest it does after you go through your library line by line after boot, but maintain the cache after boot and just re-sync it to the cloud. It takes 10 minutes to slowly go through my entire library to get it stable, and the only impprtant load time is on first browse to find a movie. It IS instant after that, but at that point the user experience is over.

This was a fantastic video. Very helpful for anyone curious about cable upgrades and their value. I always go with XLR in my systems where possible. It offers me cleaner, sound and easier connectivity. I use Mogami but have tried other brands. I didn’t note much if any difference between XLR cables. I also swapped out all of my power cables to Audioquest. I did notice a difference indeed over the ones that came with my electronics. That said, I bought some off the wall brand power cables from Amazon. They were much more affordable. There was no audible or visible difference to me on my electronics with either the Audioquest or the off brand ones from Amazon. The Ethernet cables are pure snake oil for me. Data won’t get there any faster. Plus the cables in the walls, and from the internet service provider aren’t built with all those buzzwords on the back of box. Lastly, I have been using power conditioners and good surge suppression for years. The Niagara line is awesome, but pricey. It was worth it to me because of how inconsistent power is in my community. Just an awesome video

XLR is simply the way to go on cabling vs RCA. It is inherently more stable, and can easily remove signal noise from RCAs that just do not ground well and actually act as large antennas in your system. Solar power really adds a large random bit of problems on many systems. I have solar with battery backup. When my battery takes over and vice versa there is a voltage fluctuation that makes my receiver and computer reboot. My solution was to add an UPS inline with my Panamax power conditioner. It is not healthy to have your equipment rebooting constantly. Sometimes power conditioning isn't enough! Steady power and fluctuations may need some help by adding battery power in the loop.

@@Music.Movies.67 Great points. I had no problems with my long run RCAs until I changed to a more sensitive speaker. After seeing that, mess I had to move to XLR my other cables. Quite frankly, if your cable type brings in noise with a longer run, then it is on the smaller runs as well, but you just aren't magnifying the inherent weakness that remains in the cable. Changing to quality cables is removing death from a thousand cuts. You may not see the issue with one, but slowly and surely noise is added into the system in random places. XLR isn't that much more than RCA, and I like the connectors that lock in. Pull enough on most RCA's and you are pulling the connectors to an early death. I would encourage you to play with the change. The Audio Quest HDMI cables are heavenly for being fast and low noise.

Don't get carried away with cables, especially power cables. If you buy a good amp, the power cables are more than sufficient same with subs. The cables do look pretty and the box it comes in is very nice. There are some great cables out there that will not break the bank. And ethernet cable is designed to pass data. Buying a cable with a higher band with that you not going to use is not going to make a difference. Same with hdmi cables, they ether work or they don't . I have been useing bluejeans cables for years and they are a fantastic cable l. There not pretty it's great materials at a fraction of the cost. Save your money put it elsewhere. Just ny option

You don't need quad wire to reject noise, you need shielding primarily. I know it's a good cable and very popular, but it actually performs worse than 2 wire coax in some ways. Canare L-5CFB RG-6 for example. I used the L-3CFB for smaller holes in the floor, and use it with all 4 of my 10-55ft sub runs, and my 50ft run to my Record Player Preamp.
@percybedford6266
@percybedford6266 Күн бұрын
@@andrewskaterrr you are correct in the shielding. However the quad wires I mentioned are shielded. I have made RCA cables with the Mogami W2534 wire before. The other cables I have, I bought them from World's Best Cables. My runs are short because I am using it to go from my amps to my processor.

This seems more like an advert than any kind of informative review. The reason you got rid of the interference when using XLR was nothing to do with the quality of the cable and everything to do with how XLR works. Differential input: The receiving electronics in XLR cables only accept the difference between the two signals, rejecting noise that is the same on both conductors
