This is so helpful! Self-tapes annoy me so much especially the full-bodied slate. I like your idea to include the full body in your slate!
@kristenhenryking3 жыл бұрын
I can’t take full credit for that one, saw it a on one broke actress post and I thought, I’m stealing that. So now I do all my slates like that. Glad it helped!

@@kristenhenryking how do you edit your videos to include the active shot of the standing slate and the smaller slate by side? i am so new to this and unsure of how to edit videos!
@kristenhenryking2 жыл бұрын
@@gabyrosario7848 it’s a little more advanced. But do you have Final Cut Pro? It can’t be done with IMovie. I have a video on how to edit your auditions on iMovie

I just moved into my house and this made me love my unfinished basement even more! 😂 I love my FOVITEC backdrop but I definitely love the more aqua colors, I find it less harsh than the blue so I’m excited to see them expand on their colors even more in the future! 🤞🏾✨

yes, I the basement walls are MONEY! def my fav back drop of all!

I have a beautiful, wooden bar countertop that's makes for a great Backdrop. I don't have to worry about taking it down & reseting it bk up. It also compliments my golden skintone. Yay! For no budget. 🍿🎬

That's a great idea! yay for not having to take it down and set it up! such a huge help!

My back drop is more of a soft smooth texture does texture matter
@kristenhenryking2 жыл бұрын
There's nothing wrong with that, honestly if you just have a clean wall that works too. But I do like darker colors behind me.

Awesome tips!! Where do you get the cool graphics for your videos? If you don't mind sharing
@kristenhenryking3 жыл бұрын
My editor does all those graphics so I'm not really sure. Sorry.

Hey, i noticed that the size of the backdrop is a 5 by 6. They sell the 5 by 3 as well and i am trying to figure out if i need the extra inches especially if i am considering to travel around with it. As an actor, who does selftape autions, do you think that the 5 by 6 is too big or is the 5 by 3 too small?
@kristenhenryking Жыл бұрын
If you use the 5x3 you will see the edges in landscape. So def the larger one is better.

Thanks for the info Kristen, and I may add that you're very beautiful without the pound of makeup that most women love to use.

First of all, great video! Thanks for the tips. But I wouldn't recommend using a ring light. It creates circular reflections in the eyes that looks unnatural and weird. I know a lot of actors use it. Instead, I use a led lamp with a diffuser. It doesn't create weird reflections and the contrast between light and shadows is softer. I also use a foldable backdrop like yours. And if someone is thinking to get one, they're great! Just one thing: those bastards are bigger than you think and they unfold FAST AS A BULLET so be careful to have enough free space around you. I broke a lamplight the first time I took mine out hahaha!
@kristenhenryking2 жыл бұрын
For sure, if you look at my video called bye bye ring light I no longer use one (at least directly on my face with no fill light) And for sure those foldable backdrops can be dangerous!!! Thanks for watching!!!

With the back of the camera, how is your face not distorted anytime I see someone use the back of a phone camera. Their nose is crooked and distorted from the back camera.
@kristenhenryking Жыл бұрын
Because the sides start to distort. I try to stay in the center.
