The first one reminds me something I recently booked. It was for a local/regional Super Bowl commercial, and the character was in the script as "playing a game of human frogger" around an NFL player catching footballs, in an attempt to get coffee. I had my son throw nerf balls and wiffle balls at me as I casually dodged them. Ended up booking it.

Wow I loved all these tapes! Got to admit the first one was my favorite!!! But they were all so real, so believable! I actually only started realizing acting is my passion in 2021. I've taken up theatre classes and acting on camera classes and just checking all media for casting calls. Since I started in Covid times, I've literally only done selftapes and only had 1 face to face audition. I've booked 4 commercials, 2 co star roles on national tv series and roles in student short films all by just sending in a selftape.

I have had multiple callbacks based on self-tapes, and yes, I have booked. I did a lot of editing in Final Cut Pro X, made it very funny, and I was booked without a callback. The commercial is running around the country right now.

I have a question, if you’re ready to apply for a role on backstage or a self submission website and you see no script is attached do you just use an old video or make up a script or what?

if you see a role that you like, you need to wait until they say yes to you through an invitation where they will give you the script they want you to audition with.
