I actually stayed here with my then fiance now wife. She had a vegan curry locally and was very flatulent and we were informed a guest next door had complained about “the noise”. Anyway, as embarrassed as we were it really demonstrated how thin hotel walls can be. In any event, a pleasant enough stay - for the cheap price it was perfectly acceptable.

I heard someone complain about flatulence in the next room while in a hotel in Spain. I thought, I hope they don't turn on the TV, it is wall to wall porn channels and just one news channel! 😆

I, personally, hate throw pillows!!! Who knows how many heads/butts have been on those pillows. Unless they are laundered after every guest, but that probably doesn't happen. Seems like English people love their cushions and plenty of them! Also, the awful wallpaper. Why not a fresh coat of paint. Which can be changed cheaply and easily as needed. English folks love their wallpaper.....must be a "cultural" thing....... Bless Alex for trying to help out, but the owners need to listen up!!
@serendipidus848212 күн бұрын
Absolutely. If you want to run your own hotel you better have some experience with paiting papering carpeting cleaning plumbing or you will pau through the nose for those things to be done from outside. I cant stand throw cushions and dont see the point. You have to throw them off the bed onto the floor to get into the bed! How is that a thing? And wallpaper always seems very homely but its like staying at your grandmothers!
@Maria_jones1637 күн бұрын
I agree with u on the silly throw cushions in a hotel isnt hygienic at all. but U lost me when you starting saying wallpaper and throw cushions must be an English cultural thing like have u ever left ur country before ? Loads of countries have wallpaper and throw cushions Arab countries European ones uk China and elsewhere in Asia America infact all the countries do depends on your personal taste is all
@jerihaggard72347 күн бұрын
@@Maria_jones163 OK, I'll give you that! I have traveled the world many times, all continents except Antarctica. But, I have found that England has a propensity for wallpaper. But, you are right, depends on personal taste!

geez..... raise the rates 3 pounds each and include the set of towels in the cost.......so start charging 18 pounds. Personally, I just don't get charging by the person............. I go to hotel....and pay $125/night regardless I'm by myself, with my husband, or brought along two kids!
@serendipidus848212 күн бұрын
I agree. Pay for the room and squeeze as many into the bed as you want! And then they charge a single person an extra fee as well? Whats that about..
@angelbulldog493414 күн бұрын
I'd rather pay a bit more for the room and not haggle about towels. And at this cheapcheap price, I wonder exactly WHY the price is so low. In my mind, a room should at least equal the per-night rate that a person would pay in rent or mortgage. Even at £2000 per month which is now low, it's at least £66 per night.
@j.j.912314 күн бұрын
Hmmm, do you think the room should be equal to say a good Marriott room for that money. Because in my city, you can get a fabulous room with a full breakfast for the price you’re quoting in a Marriott by the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a room far better than this hotel.
@angelbulldog493413 күн бұрын
@j.j.9123 In America, there are no rooms at $15. The lowest price I could find in my town of about 100,000 people is about $50, and it's not a place you'd want to be. Marriott would be $100+ per night.
@j.j.912313 күн бұрын
Darling, she is talking pounds, not dollars. She is also saying that they should raise the room rate to what would be around the equivalent of $200 to $125 (she is giving pounds). I’m saying the room isn’t worth that:
@angelbulldog493413 күн бұрын
@j.j.9123 £15 is $18.36. I do understand the difference. Generally speaking, we get what we pay for.

Bizarre. 2 people from opposite ends of the spectrum, both with vague ideas, yet so sure they were right and talking different languages, I got what the couple were trying to do, they just didn't have a clue. Little Miss Bollinger shows up and as usual is a One Trick Pony. Perform Her way or she is out of her depth. What the hell did it matter about the cushions? They were already there. The humbugs made me chuckle.. On the other hand she was right about the towels and other charges. How hard is it to simply Tell people when booking and on the website to bring one or pay a quid? He said they were paying a quid to buy one down the road? Yet they were paying 18k a year to hire them????? To me this is a Doss House. To the owners it is a Doss House. I am using the term Doss, in the way we used to in my Youth = a comfortable Place to sleep and keep clean (and stash belongings) in between doing Other Things. I would have been delighted to have found places like that at that price. Alix was clueless. They needed to utilise that function room, but not for bloody cookery classes! Get a Music License and put live Music on. Increase the Bar takings (The Rooms work, they are Not the problem?) Do Comedy. Rent it out to Instructors, be it Yoga, or Flamenco or Fly tying classes. Hold Fairs and charge for a stall. Do NOT paint it bloody mauve and make it look like a rich Middle aged bint's idea of the 60s. Provide Lockers for said belongings and Charge for them. There is Nothing wrong in charging for extras. Hell you are providing a bed and facilities for £15! Another Alix FAIL
