I must say, that hdd mouting was 🤯 I've never thought it was possible to mount it this way

I haven't seen someone mount a 3.5" HDD like that before so thumbs up for ingenuity. I was thinking I could use double sided tape to stick a drive to the back of the PSU but yeah your method works too. Great video
@RiceTech12 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words, I was thinking of double sided tape before for HDDs but this was in particularly heavy and the back didn't have enough space for one. Thanks for dropping by!

@RiceTech12 жыл бұрын
@@skytreegirl6929 I see nothing wrong with a 3.5" HDD in 2022. It is cheap and runs for my needs. I'm not made of money and this build was within a certain budget. All my PC's I have sold have 3.5" HDDs and my customers don't see anything wrong with a 1TB HDD. Thanks for watching and input
@skytreegirl69292 жыл бұрын
@@RiceTech1 i think this is a "ignorance is bliss" situation. I was like you once with a hdd. One day I got an m.2 ssd and now ill never go back to a hdd as its so slow in comparison and makes extra noise. Sure its cheaper but I'd rather skip a few meals to save up for one. Just my 2 cents n' a nickel is all
@RiceTech12 жыл бұрын
@@skytreegirl6929 There is a Samsung SSD in this build, the 2TB HDD was around $50 and to get a 2TB SSD is around +$300. I built this in a budget for my brother and the HDD performs well for holding media and games. Thanks for clarifying, appreciate it. I'll be dropping a video soon if you're interested to see my personal build.

what a charming, well made, and informative video. Excellent work, this style of build is right up my alley and fills a niche in the sffpc community of budget builds that are space efficient. Thanks for taking the time to record, edit, and upload this video. I look forward to more.

In general, how much heat do you get when the PC is idle and playing games? Thank you for this video, very cozy and relaxing.
@RiceTech17 ай бұрын
Thanks for leaving a comment, from what I remember the PC didn't overheat when it was used, I took the HDD bracket off the side of the mesh panel which definitely helped with the thermals, hence why the HDD is mounted on by the PSU 😁 There weren't too many air restrictions as I felt the warm air coming out the back with that exhaust fan but adding top exhaust fans will help and/or bottom intakes which I obviously didn't. If you have any more questions feel free to flick me a message on the IG account and I can help you there as well 😊 Thanks for leaving a comment 😁

I love the Cougar QBX. You did an excellent job on this budget build. Looks nice and clean! Maybe add a cover to that hdd so you don't see that silver top, it's a bit of a sore spot on an otherwise beautiful build.

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you liked the build and enjoyed the video. You're right, a cover on the HDD would make it look cleaner, great tip, I actually did that on my 2.5" HDD in my personal build because you can see it through the side panel. I didn't bother with this one because with the side panel on you can't really see it at all but nevertheless a great point. 😁

Saw the motherboard before on AliExpress. Am thinking of picking up one and the Silverstone SG-13 for a console emulator build (mainly PS1 and PS2 emu). Not sure about which graphics card I'm going with. Maybe a RX 570. Maybe a GTX 1050 Ti. Or even a GTX 1650 if I could find one used for a good price.

That sounds like a good plan you've got. The motherboard is serving my brother well you this day, it's a pretty good deal in my opinion.
