Here's the issue. For one thing if you want actual rec709 color you need a blackmagic or AJA card or device to output to the monitor. Even if the monitor is "color accurate" It won't display proper video color space thru the GUI output. Also if. you are running the ASUS PA278QV thru the output device, you can't edit in 23.976 it won't display that frame rate, so beware. Editors need to know that just using full screen playback or Video clean feed will NOT give you truly accurate color.

Check before you buy 27" QHD monitors. Your editing software may display tiny text labels that are difficult to read. I have one, and I am mostly running it in HD resolution. I think for UI display, 24" HD resolution is better. To display the video image, you can get any monitor that can display pixel to pixel resolution, based on your video resolution.

GREAT list! Asus has definitely upped their game from their early days, thats for sure. For me, I wanted to go big, so I went with a 32" 1440 LG. (LG 32QN600-B) Basically the same specs as the one you listed, but has a 75hz refresh rate as well as free sync, and can be had for $400. What are your thoughts on calibrating the screen people have (ie MacBook or iMac monitor) and coloring on that? My thought is, with most consumers watching their stuff on mobile devices, alot of which are apple products, their monitors are fairly good (if calibrated), and would totally be a reasonable screen to color on, since it is the same tech that a vast majority of users will be viewing their products on. It's the same idea as to why most music producers check their mix on consumer products (AirPods, phone speakers, car stereos, etc), since that is what most will listen on.

So I bought the 1440 proart ultrawide... for some reason, that currently escapes me, Amazon sold it to me new for 70 bucks cheaper than listed... I love paying $658 when I was told it would be $719 which is $60 bucks cheaper than msrp of $800 on the manufacturers website... let's hope it's what I ordered.

Needs to compete with Goodwill price range of $25-$40 per monitor which is where I always get mine. Oddly, as a video editor of... I don't know 10 years... So I hear you on the Gigabyte monitor. I do believe the pro version of this monitor is one of the best on the market right now. But doesn't the gigabyte monitor and it's pro variant rendition need to be calibrated for the best color accuracy and delta e values? Don't Asus monitors come calibrated from the factory at the accuracy quoted in the spec sheet? Also, aren't the differences between panel to panel in a gaming monitor are much less regulated to strict standards? Aren't the quality of Asus panels much more strictly regulated regarding uniformity and backlight bleed? I am pretty much between the pro model of this monitor and a proart monitor with 144hz refresh rate. But bc of the questions above I am leaning more towards a proart monitor for essentially reasons regarding quality control and calman verification. Let me know if I'm wrong or your thoughts in general.

Hey Matt, Can I have your opinion on the Samsung LS24F350FHUXEN? I have this monitor currently, and considering upgrading, but I'm not sure if the color accuracy would benefit from an upgrade, because it already covers 72% of the NTSC gamut, which should correspond to 99,9% sRGB? can u please do a video for a bigger budget or give me some recommendations? my budget is 800-1000, I do photography, art and play games. I cant decide if i want normal or a larger monitor. Im interested in some lg, asus and samsung monitors but i hear so many mixed reviews.

Do you have hands on experience with these panels? Because I had the ProArt in my cart for a long time and have seen/heard/watched multiple people have loads of issues with them, ranging from colors to refresh rate to ghosting.

Haven’t tried any personally unfortunately, but I tried to pick panels that had overall good reviews. Look at any monitor and you’ll see bad reviews from dead pixels etc. I would make sure you buy from a site you can return it to if it’s broken

Hi thank you for your video, Asus pro art monitor is good. But can i know i am not fulltime video editor. Most of time i design graphic designing work and print designs. Is it good for me? For print designs?

at 3:33, i have the same screen and would not recommend if your main goal is video/photo editing
I chose THIS over the Apple Studio Display.
