Fun to watch you two have fun. An AE- 1 was my first camera. You’re spot on about focusing with bad eyesight; when AF first started, it added a decade to some photographers’ careers.

I've got 2 old film cameras and actually bought some film a year or so ago. Started using one of them just for fun, but have yet to finish shooting the roll. Then I get the joy of figuring out where to get it developed.

Hardly a fair shootout but great fun. The Holga reminds me of a Kodak camera given to me by my grandfather 45 years ago. Controls were similar to the Holga except the aperture could be set anywhere from dark clouds to full sun. It also didn’t suffer light leaks and took a surprisingly good photo. I still have the camera so should give it another outing. Perhaps, pitch it against my Minolta X500 as a comparable competition to yours. Then wait three to six weeks😂

My dad who passed away in 1988 had a Canon AE-1 35. I still got it but don't use it. When my dad was still alive I wasn't allowed to use it because it was too expensive and too complicated :-).
