Hi Marcus. Thank you very much for this beautiful video. I am also using RODE Videomic NTG. I would be very happy if you show us how you process the sound you get with Rode Videomic NTG with Abobe Audiation in the next video.

I've been thinking about getting the Rhode Videomic Go 2... seems similar to the NTG you use. Primary use case is MS Teams meetings for work. How do you listen to audio from others when in Zoom meetings, etc? Maybe set the PC audio out to wireless or wired earbuds?

You can just use normal speakers, earbuds, etc. Usually video conference software is pretty good about cancelling out any signal from the speakers, especially if the microphone has a good rejection pattern.

@@williamrgrant I got the Videomic Go II and found what you said to be true! I'm just using my Poly speakerphone as the speaker. No complaints of feedback or anything. Slick.

Hi Marcus, thanks for the video. I am interested to use overhead boom mic for virtual meeting without using headphones but using my pc speakers for listening instead. Will the boom mic pick up the virtual meeting speakers voice through my pc speakers?
@MarcusHutsellАй бұрын
Hi there. Yes, yes it will. Microphones just pick up sound waves in the air, even directional ones will pick up the sound from your speakers as it bounces off of your desk, and the walls and ceilings and floors behind you above you and beside you. The audio noise reduction controls within online meet software like zoom, teams, Google meet, etc. are fairly good at helping to isolate your voice, but there is no magic microphone that won’t hear your speakers if you have the audio playing through them. How much any microphone hears nearby speakers is dependent on a few factors like microphone pick up pattern, proximity of the microphone to you vs. proximity of the microphone to the speakers, and how loud the speakers are, etc. So, the closer the microphone is to you in relation to your speakers, the more you’ll be able to turn the microphone gain down and therefore your voice will sound louder to the microphone in relation to the volume of the speakers.

@@MarcusHutsell Thanks Marcus. Guess I will have to use your recommendation then. Using airpods for listening. 😅

How do you send/setup OBS to send to ZOOM? Can you set it up to send the mic to something else like Audacity?
@MarcusHutsell2 ай бұрын
Hi there. in OBS there is a "Start Virtual Webcam" button down on the lower right near the "Stream" and "Record" Buttons. There is also a little Cog-Icon next to the "Start Virtual Webcam" button that lets you select WHAT video you want to send.....I choose a "Scene" to send instead of my program, this way I can SEND more polished/cropped webcam feed to a "Virtual Camera" and record something else in my OBS program. Once you "start" the virtual camera, you should be able to select "OBS Virtual Camera" within Zoom, Google Meets, Teams, etc.
