Excellent demonstration of these new mics, Caleb! The raw audio also just further compliments the processing of your main audio quality. It would be interesting to hear your processing of the VideoMic Go II to match similar to your overhead mic you're using - I feel like it would perform very well given it's size and price! One question I do have though; do the adjustments you make via USB "stick" with the mic when later connected to the camera? Just wondering if the pad/high pass etc. can be enabled externally and it's just a case that they lack the physical space for the buttons. I'm gonna assume no, but would be great if it could be set via the app...
@dslrvideoshooter2 жыл бұрын
Great question. Input Level and headphone monitoring do not transfer to camera use. Those two settings are only applicable when using the mic over USB. Everything else sticks!

My big question is, how's the isolation? I'm in the market for shotgun mics for my channel because our set up has three of us on the couch together and we desperately need mics that can pick us up with good quality AND isolate us so that we aren't picked up on each other's mics. We're currently using Blue Yetis, and with some mixing tricks, I can eliminate most of the bleed-over, but not all of it. If the GO II can cut out the bleed, it's an instant buy for me!

Hi Caleb, Very nice video and Mic, coming from pro Audio classical music recording I am happy for Rode, they are developing really good products for broader mass... But in the other hand they completely abandoned the pro Market after 2018 the TF-5 was the last innovation (one of the best pro cardioid mic in the same ligue with Schoeps cmc64,better than KM184 I own both). They did an ambisonic SoundField by RØDE NT-SF1, it could be IMHO the future of the Industrie in KZbin . you know probably the mic and system but paired with a good Sony camera and Zoom F8n you got a much more immersive feeling vs usual setup...the problem is still the End user and the lack of choice for immersive headphones or hardware. But it will come eventually,because human hearing it's immersive and not stereo...it is like the cinema and TV. Great videos I like how you do your audio mic solution comparaison. Have a nice week, and maybe try the NT SF1... Fil

Looks great and sounds great too. Good refresh from the Rode VideoMic GO, but not yet at the level of the Rode VideoMic NTG. I was hoping to hear a comparison against the NTG too, so to determine if that is still a better fit for those who have the budget for it especially to get the built in volume controls and safety channel. The Rode VideoMic GO II still looks like it would be a good microphone to grow your content creation with. Starting with a phone and this microphone all the way up to having a camera rig and this microphone should work well for most creators.
