I use 2 ELX200 15P's and 1 ELX200 18SP for my gigs and they do fantastic. I did have a spur of the moment Homecoming dance with one week notice that I did bring out my couple year old Rockville 15's for center fill. I Was quite happy with the event and had no volume complaints and there were 350 kids there. Not my normal gig but their hired DJ decided to cancel with only a week to spare.

Just bought new EV ELX-12" sub last week to run with 2 Alto powered 12"s as tops. Used it last week w my 4 pc, semi-acoustic band. Ran my 5 string bass n hard hitting cajon player thru mains first time. We video taped our show. My bass cud have been bit louder thru mains but I wanted take it easy for first use. Cajon player has a Alto powered, 15" sub. We used both, he likes sound, size n weight of me EV better. Like to have tops w DSP to match my new sub but the Alto 12's soundrd great for inexpensive cabs. Now w sub, entire PA system sounds way better.

Brian - Considering 2 ELX 200 15s and a single EKX-15SP sub (light weight, 133 db SPL) for live band mains and DJ work. No doubts about DJ work. Any experience/feedback for band mains? Have 2 QSC CP12s for expanded sound if needed.

I use a elx 200 10p paired with a elx 200 12sp a pair of these really put out some sound and bass. I almost got the ev 50s I still probably get a set of ev 50s. But for about 600 bucks less (for the pair)I got the 12 sub and 10 top and a gas powered speaker pole, and a hose edge 10 and 25 foot dmx cable and the covers. Its a lot louder than the ev 50 with a lot more bass. It also has a longer throw. My complaint with the evolve 50s are they are to short. They need to be about 12 to 18 inches taller. Not sure if the extension pole has came out yet. With running a pair dispersion isn't a factor. If only running one i can see the advantage of the evolve 50. But for about 600 less including all the extras. I can get IMO a better sounding compact set up with more bass and louder volume. I have been using this set uo for the past year and it is a perfect wedding set up. A little bulkier but its also more adaptable. I can take just the tops if needed. I have a pair of the 12inch tops and 18 inch subs also. If needed I can ad an 18 to the set up plus the bag and it is still cheaper than 2 evolve 50s with their bag. I love these speakers. I have 2 ekx tops also and the volume level between these and those is actually almost inaudible. Bass response on the ekx is a little better but when using subs it negates it. I was going to get the jbl srx tops and subs after but honestly I don't see the need to upgrade from this yet. I'll probably go from here to an array type if I ever have the need for it or a nice 3 way set up. But for now I can just double up. Especially having the 12inch variant. If I need more coverage I can use the 4 tops spread out. I say all that because as much of a tech/gear guy that I am. I am perfectly happy with this set up and for weddings I would still pick this set up 9 times out of ten if I had to purchase a new rig. That 1 out of 10 would be a bass boss set up or an array type set up.

@@jesustirado743 if it was me whatever my budget was I would go heavier on the sub. I would get the elx200 over the ekx and spend the extra 400 on the sub. The Bluetooth control option on the elx200 is actually really nice. The ekx is a better speaker but barely. But it doesn't offer anything more on its dsp, such as delay. To me the EKX is just a skiable line. If I was going to spend 800 a speaker I'm just going to move up to the ETX. I would be happier with 2 elx20012p and a a ekx or etx single sub vs 2 ekx 12p speakers and a cheaper sub. It really all depends on what you want to do. I just went elx200 for size and weight. I love the 12 inch elx subs and to me it was about looks with the dual sub set up and being compact. I have 2 full sets now. So 4 tops and 4 12 inch subs. It covers so much and I can break it in to 2 sets. Not that I have any other DJs working with me but if I did it's their and I have the coverage for a school dance. This set up combined with my ev evolve 50s I would have to go on another professional level to get better than what I have. Something like bassboss or some big arrays.

@@jesustirado743 @Jesus Tirado what do you want the budget to be. A simple choice is to start with the elx 200 18sp it's affordable enough to add another one further down the road. If you want to spend more money any of the premium 18 inch offerings from ev, jbl, qsc, etc will work for just a solo. So like an etx paired with these tops. 2 18 elx 200 will hit harder that the single etx. If it was me my choice would be a pair of ev elx 200 18sp or a pair of ev ekx 15sp. More compact and a good sound. If it was me I would go for the 15 ekx if space for transport was at a premium. Output is about the same from them and the elx 18 is still pretty compact.

Hey Briansredd, my question is, I do have the EV Evolve 50 (2 sets, still under the 45 days try) very happy at this point but I do want to know if 2 ELX200 12 Powered subwoofer along with my the 2 JBL EON612 will be a better option with more power and better quality in the sound? or should I just stay with the 2 sets of EV Evolve 50?

I have to say it was painful to hear the word budget in this. I have the 15's over 18's and i've done a dozen or so weddings with them so far. that being said they have performed flawlessly. This is also the first PA setup I've purchased so I feel like I made a good choice as a startup company in my market. I have to say that I really like the EV lineup and will certainly move up the line when I need to, I've literally only had 1 instance where I hit LIMIT on my subs. They have taken a lot of use in the heat this summer, all out doors. They are also super power efficient, I can run my entire setup from a single 15a circuit which is a big deal when your djing a wedding in the Aunts barn and they only have 1 circuit ran. over all I would say these are going to more then pay for themselves in the next 12 months, technically they already have but hey, we have some overhead :)

I agree that they punch well above their weight, and while they are inexpensive and "budget" friendly they certainly don't sound like cheap speakers. You did indeed make an excellent choice in sound and no doubt your clients are pleased.

Budget, affordable & entry level are not bad words. These are words, in marketing, that typically describe a lower cost alternative to more premium offerings. The word you want to look out for is "cheap", because that word could be describing substandard quality. There is no shame in being a smart consumer & getting bang for your buck :)

im gonna be checking out your stuff, EV by far has the best bang fir your buck offerings out there and the resell value is high. I bought the Elx200 18 sub to compliment my k12.2s but havebt had a venue large enough or a a big enough crowd to bring em out, the qsc k12.2z are a beast they have filled medium to large venues ive played at, really wanting to crank out the sub though, ill be posting a review soon

I can’t stand the legendary brand kiss ups calling speakers budgets like they are 50 bucks I use the alto 3 series and qsc guys are amazed and speaking of qsc they were getting their ass kicked by mid priced great speakers like alto so they came up with the cp series but no thanks even with the 3 yr warranty 1000 bucks for two 12s when I can do two great 12s for 600

Agreed @Andre I’m an Alto Professional fan. Love the speakers and they’re great in the mid priced range, sound incredible and provide ultimate bang for the buck. I got my 1st EV product ever last week which is the ELX200 18SP Subwoofer 🔊 my mains are TS315 from Alto. They make a wonderful symphony of sound together. But I’m thinking 🤔 of going ELX200 12p instead of the 15p it’s the year 2022 and the 12’s are $799 that’s NOT a budget speaker or setup LOL 🤣 The ZLX which is their entry line…I don’t consider to be Budget. Budget to me is Harbinger brand and Rockville speakers. However EVERYONE has to have a starting point which should be respected.

I’ve had the chance earlier this week to hear the new Alto Professional TS412 and TS415 speakers which weren’t too impressive to me PERSONALLY. If they were better I’d admit however to me they don’t punch like TS3’s do although they’ve added Bluetooth Audio, An App and DSPs I heard what RCF’s sound like which are the most incredible sounding speakers I’ve heard in portable PA’s they’re like High End Headphones 🎧 or something you’d want to listen to at home with your favorite Vinyl LPs I’m sooo impressed with the ELX200 18SP and look forward to a set of ELX200 12P(s) to replace my Alto TS315 I gig with currently. But I still keep the TX210 and TX208s for Monitoring and practice sessions at home.
