I would love to do this to a 1959 or 1960 fiberglass boat. Many had tail fins and rounded windshields.

I know exactly what boats you're talking about! Almost like an old Cadillac?? I've seen a couple come up for sale and but never pulled the trigger. Next time I see one for sale I'll grab it!

Without power trim, looks like you need to tilt motor up another hole to get more hull out of the water and gain some top end. I have an 83 75 Evinrude that I rebuilt; super simple to work on and for the weight gives a ton of power. Subscribed!
@Kings_Wharf_Restoration9 күн бұрын
Yeah I definitely needed a little more trim. Best motors around, late 70s early 80s Evinrude/Johnson. Like you said, just so simple to work on.

Impressive video, just like the other one you got. I myself am restoring and old 1982 Sea Ray 170 but of course with a much more amateur approach to it. Given the professionalism you have displayed in these restorations, I guess you make a living out of this? Anyway, congratulations, keep up the good work
@Kings_Wharf_RestorationАй бұрын
Thank MN! Sea rays are nice boats! Hahaha I try my best, but no I don't make a living from this, that would be cool though! The sad part is I would make way more money per hour just focusing on one part of the restoration, like buffing/upholstery and doing that as a business. But this is more fun. Best of luck with your restoration!! Thanks again for the comment!!

I love the boat hull style u do crazy good work however the color combos are killing my ocd lol brown boat grey carpet red and black interior white engine tan foam pad
@Kings_Wharf_Restoration7 күн бұрын
Thanks Billy! The boat is Red and silver metal flake. I used to go all out and buy custom colour carpets, but it doesn't make me any money, so I go with this cheaper indoor/outdoor carpet. The 3 they come in are brown, black and and this gray/blue colour. Black would look awesome, but people would scream at me for it being too hot in the summer. Ive also tried to painting an Evinrude black but I ended up hating it. I try to keep the engines close to the original colours (Evinrude is a slightly off white, but nobody ever notices). Thanks for the comment!
@Billyo2347 күн бұрын
@ please don’t take it as me being an ass cause that wasn’t my intentions I assumed costs of materials was a factor. I did notice the hull was red at the end of the video out in the sun but it was after I made the comment lol didn’t older Evinrude engines come red as well or was that johnson

Why there is no gauges?
@Kings_Wharf_RestorationАй бұрын
The main reason I don't put gauges in boats is money. The only way this boat thing I'm doing makes any money is when I sell the boat, as I'm not making money from KZbin. Lets say I put new gauges in for $300/$400, would I be able to get an extra $300/$400 out of the boat when I sell it? Maybe, but I would just break even on the gauges (I would be buying and installing them for free at that price). So to get anywhere I would want an extra $500/$600, and there's no way gauges would get me an extra $500. I could put the old gauges back in and maybe get the tac and speedometer working. But the other 3 were trim gauge, fuel gauge (must have had a built in fuel tank at one point) and oil pressure I believe. I knew the engine I was going to be buying would be a 2 stroke without trim, so those gauges are useless. The fuel gauge is also useless, as there's no built in fuel tank anymore. So it comes down to, would it be better to have only 2 working (possibly) gauges or cover all the gauge and have none. Either way it sucks, I know. But if you want a speedometer you can get free one on your phone, and the only time you need the RPM gauge is setting the idle or trying to tune your engine. Most people just want to go for a ride on the lake.
@yagomojaes2254Ай бұрын
@@Kings_Wharf_Restoration I would reuse the speedometer just to maintain some originality and make it easier to sell but that's a smart decision not to put the gauges back. Saves a lot of time and headaches too!
