Well done fella. Too many focus on expensive fancy gear. It's all about getting out there and enjoying the experience seeing the sights etc,

In all honestly, I've got a bit of both. However, there is so much really good budget gear out there people need to be aware they don't have to spend a fortune to get some great kit.
@mysterylovescompany26573 жыл бұрын
Anything which gets ppl out there faster, while still keeping them relatively safe (e.g. you're not going to be going up a mountain or braving chilly weather w. any of this kit, but it'll look after you in the woods in Summer just fine) is well worth making a video about. If you're having to spend the first 2+ years just slowly accumulating your gear before your boots even hit the dirt, then that's 2 years you could have been enjoying the outdoors & building up your skills + comfort level. Cheers, sir.

Thanks for making this video, there's some really great suggestions in there! I'm sure lots of ppl will tremendously benefit from the fact that you've done the hunting so that they don't have to. I actually have that same pad, but under the Powerlix brand (identical, tho; almost cert. made in the same factory), & I like to call it my bubble-wrap, as in, "Oof, that motel bed looks hard on the website, better bring my bubble-wrap," or, "Hmmn, we know that highway is always rough on my back, better bring my bubble-wrap," (I use it as a seat cover; gives me a remarkable amount of extra suspension). It's astonishingly comfy for what it is, & I say that as a person whose busted back involves more parts than Stephen King's bibliography. I prefer to use it on a stretcher, for obvious reasons, but if I'm only going for 1 night, then I sleep well enough on that, with an $8 folding foil undermat for insulation, on the ground. It's much sturdier than it has any right to be, too. The material used is surprisingly tough. All that for a pittance, even by _my_ poor-as-Hell standards, & mine even came with a pumpsack (which only takes about 4 bagfuls to fill it firm). Absolute sorcery. 😲

I bought the Antur inflatable sleeping mat after watching this and FINALLY got to use it. Amazing. Its so small when packed (about a third the size of my previous mat) and seems so thin when it's taken out the box that I thought it was just gonna burst but as a side sleeper, that was the best night's sleep I've had camping. What do you think to the side pouches on this bag? I have this bag. The hip/zip pockets are brilliant and huge, but you can't get bottles of water into the side pouches easily when the bag is full because there is no stretch to the pouches. I guess that's why you are using a bladder.

I too have the Antur sleeping mat however it’s not insulated so although much comfier than a standard air bed for a side sleeper or heavier bloke like myself, if camping in cooler temperatures some insulation is required underneath. That would be it’s only flaw for me, I had a slight issue with the first one I bought and when I asked them about repairs they simply sent out the new, improved version for free. Great company (from North Wales too!)

Hello Andy , Been intending to get a message out to you for some time now , I've watched half a dozen or so of your videos now, ( you advised me on the jet boil stash last year ,infact since I've recently purchased one) I find the channels content very interesting & informative but actually relevant too! I like particularly how you conduct various gear reviews in a no nonsense, straight talking, pleasant genuine, manner, while demonstrating in a clear easy to understand fashion. With out all this " egotistical, factually irrelevant "look at me, look at me " bollox that's unfortunately widely infiltrating you tube these days , keep doing what you're doing mate Awesome, Nice one!! No doubt speaking for many other outdoor enthusiasts it's thoroughly appreciated you making these videos, plus all the necessary involved effort. You've picked a great selection of gear to review here , I was particularly smitten by the red wine pouch , love it ! Never seen one before , being an avid Shiraz drinker I'm definitely going in buy one. Also the water proof sheet, what a great product. Andy do you have a water filtration system in your hiking pack? I've just purchased the Etekcity 3 stage Water Filter Straw, it's pretty cool & well worth the money , 30Au Dollars. Fyi Nice one bud 👍 One new subscriber

Also, that cannister refill valve is a brilliant inclusion; not only is it definitely going to save ppl _money_ , but it's also going to do the environment a solid, because those small stove cans (& also the long ones used in car-camping "lunchbox stoves") may just be the single greatest waste product generated by modern campers. Personally I consider it morally wrong to buy from Amazon and have found that their apparent claim to be the cheapest prices is no longer true, so shop around.
