Budget Wireless Camera Monitor - Shimbol ZO600M Review

first off this is a great review--informative and to the point. surprised you don't have more subs! about the monitor, I find it interesting that while you can connect a phone using the QR code, and record from there, there is no way to start recording once you have the monitor in your hand and have walked away from the camera setup. say you're solo that day, do you need the monitor AND the phone in your hand to set up the shot and start recording?

Thank you! Personally I don’t really use the internal recording feature of the monitor. But I believe regardless of having the phone connected or just the monitor you can start and stop recording at anytime as this feature doesn’t control the actual camera only the internal recording of the monitor. @@GlenReed ah! so is this a feature most wireless monitors do not have? may just be a misunderstanding on my part then. I'm not talking about the monitor recording but rather triggering the camera record. atm I'm just using a 5.5" feelwrld and when I'm setting up my shots alone, I'm walking back and forth constantly to make adjustments. if I'm using my phone as a monitor, then inevitably I need to quickly google something or adjust some light, and have to disconnect (and my body has to be power cycled to connect again after disconnecting, so it makes this a whole hold-up) thus me looking for wireless monitors

Now I understand 🙂. Correct most monitors in this price bracket will not control the camera. Wireless anything can get very expensive when it comes to filmmaking equipment. In your situation it would almost be cheaper to purchase a cheap tablet just to control your camera so you don’t have to constantly disconnect. I did this myself for a little while. It’s definitely challenging as a solo operator.

Beyond the monotone voice and the fact that it's not actually 100% wireless, this was somewhat disappointing
