the only debt i cureently have was just sent to a debt collector. do you have any advice on what i can do to get that debt down to a more manageable level? for reference, its a little over 2,000 dollars and it is a capital one Walmart card. the kind you can only use at Walmart.

Give the collectors a call and tell them you cant afford that much. They might cut it down and call it paid in full if you only pay half in one go, or whatever they end up offering.

Pick a concrete goal (like "I want to save 1500 for a down payment on a new car" or "I want to save 20k to start my own business") and write that down where you can see it every day. Keeping written records of where your money is going every single day is a good way to see for yourself where your habits need work.
