The slotted spoon method is good for a beginner like me. The other methods are good but I don’t want the yolk to break.

Hybrid! I break the shell on the counter, let most of the white drip out/spill over the edge, then dump the yolk out of the shell into my fingers to let the rest of the whites slip through my fingers.

@@savekillqqpsounds8473its method 1 but instead of risking breaking the yolk on an edge you let the last 20% of white spill around your fingers as in method 3. It also means you don't have to fish around to grab the yolk

Personally, my favourite method is the cracking the egg and put it in the shell until egg whites gone and then I put the egg yolk in the scones that’s my favourite bit of baking

My dad used to make mé triangular toast with egg yolk and he would always take ages to separate the yolk. It’s sad to now that it was this simple. 😞

You can also coat your fingers with garlic and the yolk will be easily picked

Or grab a garlic and touch the outside of it and you can grab the yolk and put it on the bowl

The 4th method is a bottle method you squeeze an empty plastic water bottle over the egg yolk then the yolk stays in the bottle
