As a farmer, I beat my head against the wall trying to teach people this information. Also, let me make this clear for those who have been misinformed, IF THERE IS NO ROOSTER, THERE IS NO BABY CHICK! The hen lays an egg every day even with no rooster. She plops it down and walks away and doesn't give it another thought, BUT it is a tiny little package of amazing nutrients for us! What a gift! If their IS a rooster, the hen has to actually be "broody", or ready to sit for 3 weeks on her eggs. This process called incubation is what actually activates the chick to grow. So if there is a rooster but you gather the eggs every day, there will be no chick yet. Hope this clears it up because I cannot tell you how many times people have cussed me out at the farmers market for "killing baby chicks", or the man who one time tried to tell me that the hen lays an egg and goes off to die...ya can't even make this stuff up y'all!

Hi Rita, the shell color doesn't really matter but the stronger the shell and the harder to crack, the healthier the egg (not always but generally). As far as the best cooking method, I've made a really good video on this one but in short, frying the white and eating the yolk raw appears to be the healthiest. If you don't like this idea, soft-boiling is the 2nd best option, followed by hard-boiling. Hope this helped :)

Thank you very much Dr. Eric. I had removed my Uterus due to massive fibroid in 2017 and within 9 month i had a complication with my left ovary (expanded with fluids with 12cm in diameter) and get entangled with my intestines. Got them both ovaries removed with multiple surgery due to intestines rearrangement. After 1st operation (uterus removed), i start to develop GERD. And after 2nd operation my GERD become worst, and i went to HRT due to massive backlash after ovary removed. While on HRT, 1st prescription cause my limb become weak and i become unconscious 2x. The 2nd prescription (progynova), caused me to develop to pre-diabetic condition (6.2-6.7mmol/L), massive nerves issue at hand and legs, in the same time putting on weight and massive cellulite at thighs. I walked a lot. I seldom /never exercise but i walked a lot (>10000 steps/day). I stop HRT like a year ago, but i have been hit with warning flag for osteoporosis (low bone density, T-score spine -2.0 and hip -lowest for neck -1.0) during my annual full checkup and my thyroid (T3-4.9 ), LDL 4.5mmol/L), liver ALT(SGPT) elevated to 68 and GGT to 50 and finally the Vit D is insufficient - 68. All these symptoms started after my Uterus and Ovary removed. Recently i had inflammation at knees and frequent water retention at feet and hand (swollen alike). I am on Bio D3 800ui (morning x2), {neurobion B1,B6,B12) morning x1 - this help reduce my nerves pain}, and past 1 week + on Glucosamine 500mg x2 morning and x1 night and lastly concentrated fish pil with vit E X2 morning. I didn't go for any medication for Thyroid as it's still not that high. I also do encounter sleepless night like 4 to 5 days..unable to fall sleep and sometimes i sleep throughout and after awake still sleepy. Women who thinking to remove the ovary especially should think wise is it's really necessary. I am 42+ now but according to my check up, my body behaving like 52 years old. I am trying to learn from Dr. Eric video here...i learned a lot. Life becoming frustrating and i am almost give up in my life but i am still hanging on because i have a son too look after.

The Mediterranean Lifestyle surpasses the Keto Diet by far. In a few years the Keto Diet will become history. I eat pasta and bread with olive oil, tomato. Still manage to lose weight and be healthier than on a Keto Diet. It's the philosophy of life, not just the diet. You can still eat some carbohydrates. You don't have to do away with carbohydrates so drastically. I love Dr. Berg, but you have to be open to other possibilities. Keto is too strict to follow a lifetime. The key is big salads and small portions. And do things you love. Not only work and stress. Go for long walks, breathe some fresh air. Do things that make you feel positive. Don't surround yourself with stressful people who can't grasp life is too short.

Great and informative presentation here. Love me eggs. Can eat anywhere from 6 to a dozen eggs a day. One of the best and most economic sources of quality protein and quality fats, and micronutrients. Been eating/drinking egg yolks raw and cooking the egg whites for many years now. Great stuff! 🤘
@fadisalem59614 жыл бұрын
I do quite the opposite actually. I would eat one whole egg, plus 2 additional egg yolks and tossing out the whites.

any thoughts on throwing away some of the egg whites?
@AlbertKingboss4 жыл бұрын
I think it's a good idea cause they're less nutritious than other protein sources. But I'd eat at least a few of those egg whites to reap the benefit of B2 and selenium.

*How do you get rid of avidin from your body? I think pasturised egg whites caused my hair thinning!* I’ve lost 85lbs, and had been having about 500ml - 1L of pasturised egg whites per week, and 10 boiled eggs per week. I think the avidin (biotin deficiency and sudden weight loss) has caused my significant hair thinning.

Whats about choline?
@AlbertKingboss4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave, all of it is found in egg yolk. I talk about it in my video on choline but you wanna be very careful with how you cook your egg cause heat is really damaging to choline.

In a previous job we had some Americans come over to us in the UK from our parent company, lots of good jokes about UK/US differences, especially food. Extra mature cheddar blew them away or disgusted them BUT we used lots of egg yolks in our lab to help keep cells alive. Our American friends were shocked about how much more colour we had in our egg yolks. They actually thought our eggs may not be right because of the strong rich golden colour. I think they must have only seen low quality supermarket style eggs. Here if a yolk is what we regard as paler then it is clearly a low quality and is probably from a battery chicken farm.

It only cost RM 0.5 to 0.6 for a free range eggs in Malaysia. It is a great source of protein & nutrients for my whole family. I continue tries to convince my other family members & friends about the goodness of an egg. By the way, I hard boiled my eggs & eat with extra vigin olive oil..

Is is better if the egg yolks are runny? Heard one gets more nutrition that way.

Yes. Also the fatty acid profile in them is healthier when you eat them raw/runny.

The egg yolk has amazing benefits to repair the system damaged, because of its good Nutritionals. Cholesterol, and A, D, E & K2 Vitamins etc. The white is super, taking it raw is amazing, High Protein, Magnesium, B2, B3, Calcium and it makes you deficiency free. Egg as a whole is good for the body. Thanks Health Educator Dr Eric Berg.

Question: If the daily recommended cholesterol intake is about 200-300mg, and 1 egg contains 186mg, how is consuming 4 eggs daily (744mg) healthy?
@AlbertKingboss4 жыл бұрын
Hi Zvi, this used to be a very popular belief but turned out to be a myth. Our body produces around 3000 mg of cholesterol a day and the dietary cholesterol you consume only makes it easier for your body to produce the rest. There doesn't seem any connection between dietary cholesterol and the risk of heart disease, for example (unless you have a very specific gene defect which is very uncommon).
@umerpk41884 жыл бұрын
Where did you get the daily quoted limit from? Totally wrong.

I perused some comments, Berg discusses egg yolks, that they are better for you soft, but egg whites should be cooked. If memory serves, Berg says the runny yolks have an improved effect on your brain. I wish I could ask him, I am getting tired of 4 Sunny side up eggs every day. I am salivating for an omelet, sauteed onions & mushrooms, sausage, Swiss cheese.
