I only buy clothes from Goodwill. I only go on Tuesdays, when everything uder a certian color tag is $1.99. I have found so many great clothes and it makes my shopping trips more fun because I can actually afford what I am looking at and it isnt a hunt to find something that is a reasonable price. I always check the clothes for tears and stains, but I have MANY very trendy and well made clothes that I could never afford otherwise.

5 years ago we purchased a "life straw" water filter. It was $150 but we don't use water from the tap. For some reason I get sick from it so we were buying big jugs of water 3 times a week, cost about $30. so the water filter saves us mega bucks since we have not had to even change the filter in all that time. We also bought an espresso machine and my husband makes us lattes each day and when we go on trips we fill our coffee mugs with ones from home so we are not spending on coffee shop ones and they stay hotter in the thermos mugs than in styrofoam cups. Bought a meat slicer so now when I cook roasts or hams I can cut them for sandwiches instead of buying deli meats. good video.

I totally agree with you on the well-made clothing. It fits better, it lasts longer, and you feel better wearing them. I have a pair of pants that I spent more on than any other I'd ever bought, but their cost-per-wear is a fraction of the cheap ones I bought.

You are such a good person. Thank you for putting yourself out there. One thing of quality we have bought is a great vacuum cleaner. We have a cat and a cheaper vacuum would wreck our carpets and our furniture. We also use alot of microfiber rags to lessen paper towel usage. I saved $247 this year on auto insurance by shopping. Meal planning, just two weeks and repeat, has saved us a ton of money and concern about meal prep. And, we walk 3-5 miles a day so we don't need a gym membership.

Something that I bought that saves me money is a men's hair buzzer. I bout it at CVS and it was originally $30 but I had a $10 in extra care dollars so it only cost me 20. I have been cutting my boyfriend's hair for the last 8 months by watching You Tube videos on how to do the latest men's styles. A fashionable men's haircut is upwards of $60 in our neighborhood including the tip, and to cut your hair ever 4-6 weeks can mean over $500 dollar a year just in maintanance. Ive gotten better with each time I cut his hair and its fun learning all the new techniques.

You have made me think about the purchases I have made, looking at it in a new light, was it a money saver. I am actually going to consider this a little further, as I am in the process of decluttering my home. I will also keep this in mind as I shop for things in the future. Thank you for inspiring me in a new way. Love the emergency kit. Think I might have to put one of those together myself. As for the clothes, you have an excellent point. My father taught me pretty much the same thing as I was growing up. "You get what you pay for" he would always say.

Petshed has generic flea/tick medication as well and it's so much safer than Hartz brand (this brand has been known to cause harm to dogs and cats). It's fairly priced enough but if you don't have giant dogs, you can buy a large dog pack, deposit the medication in glass vials and give the correct dosage using a syringe.

I've used Straight Talk for the last 3 years and love it, but I just had to upgrade to a new phone because my original Samsung one just kept freezing up. I decided to invest in the low-priced $199 iphone 5s model, and also purchased the 2-year apple care plan for $99. (I've been saving for a new phone for the last few months because I knew my much-loved old one was on its last leg, and I was afraid of being in a situation where I needed a phone and mine wouldn't work.) I NEVER thought I'd spend $300 on a phone, but I do look at it as an investment since iphones do have a good track record, and I don't plan on having to buy another phone for many years to come. I use my phone as a phone (:-) !!!!) and for pulling up coupons in stores when I shop-----and I have to say that pulling up those coupons is a LOT easier with my iphone than with my old cheapie Samsung. LOL!! I just found your videos and enjoy them------you are VERY wise beyond your years!!

I love those power packs. Probably about 10 years ago I gave one to my dad and he had never seen them before and he was fascinated by it. I was shocked because I thought he knew about everything. My parents lived in a small community in Illinois and it wasn't unusual for the electricity to go out and that always worried him. But at night we could plug a couple of lamps into the power pack and just wait for the power to come back on. He would have me call the power company first see if they knew then our little town was without power and usually they didn't and then when I called back later I would ask them the status of the power and they would say you mean you don't have power there and within 10 minutes of truck would show up to get the town lit up again. I always kept one in my car in case I needed. jumper cables because they were part of it or it even had an air compressor if I needed to put some air in my tires. In fact I think I need to go and buy another one. It's just one of the many memories that I have of my dad. Thank you for showing the power pack because it did trigger that memory.

Mine is curbside grocery shopping. It cost a max of $5 at HEB and Kroger and most of the time I get it for free at HEB if I pick a less popular time slot to pick up (they are trying to encourage people to pick non busy times). I simply pick what I need online, pay and pick up the next morning. I find that I spend WAY WAY less than I do if I go to the store- it is easier to price compare, nutrition fact compare and it tells me if there are coupons available. Also, I can just get up and make sure I am actually out of something before I place it in the cart. Plus, once my online cart starts hitting $50, I reassess weather I really need something or if I can do something for less/change plans. I am also not distracted with all of this crap I do not need but entices me anyway. Best of all is it takes no time at all. I am talking I spend $30 to $40 less and save boats of time. I will spend $5 to save $25 to $35 .. and actually it is probably less than $5/per a time when you compare the times I have paid for it vs. the times it has been free. HEB and Kroger both offer free pick up for the first few uses to new customers. Try it.

Neat ideas! I absolutely love the "purse emergency kit!" I have some of those things in my purse, just not centralized. I like reusing the check box for drawer organization, too. Home organization is where I struggle. But I raise my hand to the fact that it wastes time and money. I've been late to scheduled events or get-togethers, because I could find this or that. And very cool collab!! I'm enjoying watching the other vids. We may have to "tag," along (:

Great video. Great tip regarding quality clothing and cost per wear. Great tip also about carrying a water bottle but I would not use one from the dollar tree because of the fact that plastic leeches into your water and they are made in China with lots of terrible chemicals. I would opt for a good quality stainless steel water bottle. I purchased ones from Contigo that keep coffee hot for six hours or more and cold drinks cold for six hours or more even in the high desert where I live. It can be very hot to the touch on the outside and still have ice cubes on the inside. They are cheapest Amazon.

Also a few ways I save money is by not having cable. I've never paid for cable. Hubby and I watch free movies off kindle or apps on tablet. Mostly I just watch youtube videos. We bought a Men's hair buzzer a long time ago and I cut my husbands and nephews hair and that saves us a lot of money. I also use a prepaid phone. Hubby has a work phone that he can use. I also buy quality clothes so I don't have to purchase clothes that often. In fact I still have a dress in great shape that hubby bought me ten years ago although its too big for me now. I also do have an emergency kit of all sorts of things that I carry with me when I leave home. I'm sure there are probably others but that's all I can think of at the moment. God bless you!

I believe in buying quality clothes when I can too but I've only really saved money when I bought my wedding dress. It's actually a black and white cocktail dress that I bought from a high end consignment shop. I didn't need an actual traditional wedding dress since my husband and I just got married in the courthouse. I've worn that dress again just recently to my husband's work Christmas party. So, I totally saved money not having to go out to buy a new dress or pair of heels. (I wore my wedding heels to the party too since they were plain black ones that can be worn for many different occassions).

Just discovered your channel today after seeing you on Dave Ramsey's IG. Congratulations on reaching your goal of being debt free!! I'm just beginning to realize the importance of paying down my debt...so glad to find you! I like your style, spirit, and thoughtfulness. I also wanted to share a tip that came to mind as I watched this particular video. I noticed that you've lost some weight since you did this older video (another congrats!) and I figured you somewhat regret not being able to wear your good-quality dresses. You may want to invest in a sewing machine. Not to make your own clothes, but to alter your favorite pieces. I've done this myself...it's SO EASY to measure in a few inches along the whole length of a seam and just stitch it right up. (Inside out, of course.) I've never altered pants, since I don't wear them, but I have done skirts and blouses. With a little practice on a few older pieces, I'm sure you could get the hang of it really quickly. Looking forward to more videos! :)

i dry all of our families clothes on a clothesline outside. it saves money and time in a few ways, 1) I put the clothes on hangers on the line, so I don't have to take them off the line, out them on hangers than hang them up, time saved, then when youbuse a dryer your less sturdy clothes, and even jeans, are being deteriorated by the act of being rubbed against each other again and again, and 3. our electricity is saved. I have 4 people in my house, that need laundry done, the washer is going 3-5 times a week, easy. this way, we cansave about 50$ a month over last years bills. (I checked) I also don't use my big appliances during peak hours, I have my ac turned up to just barely bearable, we turned down the hot water heater to 110, and I cook 3 meals a day at home, packing lunches, and breakfasts ahead of time (overnight oatmeal wut wut). I specifically invested in good lunch boxes for my husband and daughter to take with them. it was quite an expense. 50$ each, to get GOOD quality lunch box pieces. but a sound investment, neither of them frget their lunch because I do it bento style, and every days lunch is a sort of adventure. MEAL PLANNING. we are blessed enough to have a deep freezer, and I love to cook, so we always have a home cooked meal to enjoy, even if it is as easy as say, a homemade pizza. it helps everyone feel less like we need to gonout and shop, because we have everything we need in the house already. and. I get my fresh vegetables delivered to my door once a week, from an all organic farm, because HELLO, straight from the source ischeaper than paying the middle man! We do as much as possible to save money and get out of debt. it's definitely worth it. thank you for being an inspiration!
