Budhaditya, I am an old man --84, to be exact--- who has almost spent his life reading, teaching and listening to Hindusthani classical music from his boyhood days. I still fondly remember a splendid "Desh" you had played in late seventies at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata .Your technical mastery over the Sitar was overwhelming and the long and cpmplicated "meends" were simply unbelievable. But then we also remembered Ustad Vilayat Khan's unforgettable "Desh" in the Sadarang Music Festival at Mahajati Sadan in the late fiftes ! But then you were a blooming rose,full of promise, running towards maturity. Today, you have made me forget all other Tilak Kamods I have heard so far. It is so soft, so touching ! I could not hold my tears. And what a surpriswe ! Never for a moment your mastery over the Sitar came to my mind. It preferred to remain hidden behind your fully blossomed musical sensibility. Go on playing Tilak Kamod once again if you like and bring more tears of feeling from the listeners.

There is so much you can say about this two guys, one, is an absolute finger tapping artist at it's the very best and inline with the very best tabla player in my opinion and is above 3- notch than everyone else playing in this timeline, Sauman Nandi is always in absolute timeframe adjusted , just superb in his finger timing and face timing alighned with Budhaditya. Well what can I say about Budhaditya? a very gifted ranked one sitar player that is just in my opinion a player of heart and soule, I pray that both will live for long time for us to hear a wonderful play of music that is just out of this world, Tilak Kamod at it's vey best.

Yes Kalyanda , I agree with you. Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee Sahab is true incarnation of Goddess Saraswati, I am a fan of Ustad vilayat khan, but Pandit Budhaditya Sahab is far ahead of all maestros, including ustad vilayat khan I may sound a bit too much of an admirer, but the truth is that Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee Sahab is Na Bhooto, Na Bhavishyati.

Dear Pandit Ji, I do also like to you (as requested by Mr. Mohan Ram) that please play some unheard raagas which will be with us for ever. However, I am just wondering whether this is the same sitar that Panditji normally plays ? Somehow the tonal quality is little different. needless to mention that the flavour is again priceless. Soumen ji as usual complementary accompanist.

I have heard from musicians that it is better to cultivate a few ragas but go really deep into each raga, rather than trying to play many ragas at a surface level. Kishori Amonkar, for example, was famous for her rendition of Raga Bhupali which she had apparently taken to new heights not reached by others. So I think it is with Budhaditya-da, like other great musicians he tends to stick to a few selected ragas but then explores those ragas in-depth.
@sadeivprasanna7809 ай бұрын
Buddha Aditya Mukherjee has a very good hand on sitar but he is lekin he is on Style and repeating almost the same phrase is every now and then without any experimental daring practicing only few Raag cannot make it more deep without taking risk to play something new that was habit of Ustad vilayat Khan and that's why he is most of the live performance where not so genius but it was full of novelty and Nikhil Banerjee Buddha Aditya Mukherjee Ravi Shankar and all other well known artist are performing very nicely in live program but they are repeating the same phrases every now and then without taking any risk of novelty so forget that Buddha Aditya can create any new Raag or he will play raag like Chhaya nut Kedar Kamod because they are very near to each other and it is very difficult to maintain its original character of each Raag.

@@trishaghosh4084 Actually it isn't that common by great artists. I wasn't being critical of the maestro, I am a huge fan and have seen him live many times and a couple of times when my own tabla tacher accompanied him many years ago. I was just making an observation.
