I find it extremely amazing that we can still watch real footage of his Wild West show today. I have seen his grave before on u tube but not the museum. Thank you for the tour, wonderful American history. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺

I was 10 when we visited Cody Wyoming. Someone hit our car in the church parking lot and we had to stay a week for repairs. Best week of my life! Local cowboys practiced for the rodeo was amazing.

This is so interesting. I have a small connection to Buffalo Bill on both sides of my family. My father's dad saw the Wild West show as a small boy. On my mom's side, her great grandfather was a scout for the army. He was Irish and joined the army. In those days it was guaranteed citizenship. Anyway he was friends with Cody and some of the Indian scouts. My ancestor was Captain William Jordan and retired to Staten Island NY. The Wild West show would camp on Staten Island for about 3 months in 1886 Jordan drank with his Indian friend on the front porch and tell stories. William's wife didn't want the drinking so he'd go off and visit at the campsite and disappear for a few days.

This was so cool seeing you here! I live in Littleton, Colorado, and I've been up to Lookout Mountain several times. Isn't it beautiful up there?! The history and scenic views are breathtaking. I learned even more information about Buffalo Bill through this video. I learned years ago from my dad that my great aunt was related to him. I always thought that was pretty interesting. Thank you for another great trip!

Thanks for this great video, Jordan! It is very near and dear to my heart as I grew up within five miles of Lookout Mountain and visited Buffalo Bill's grave often through the years. The museum has been expanded considerably since I last visited. I learned more about the man, his life and events surrounding him, that I never knew before thanks to the museum tour and information you shared. Colorado truly has some beautiful scenery, but I agree with your comment at the beginning, Jordan, its roads are not very "user friendly". Keep up the good work, I look forward to more videos like this.

Wow, all of the road video is so familiar to me. Colorado is my home state. Most likely you will or are probably already through my home town of Grand Junction. Graduated from Fruita Monument which you might also go through. The part where you were commenting on the drive looking like a car commercial, I believe was the Glenwood Canyon. My dad was a construction worker that worked on making the highway an interstate. The bottom 2 lanes along the Colorado River is the original 2 lane highway. It was his last big highway/interstate job. He retired from that and then was a cement truck driver in GJ. He poured a lot of cement for Ricky Schroder who had a 15,000 acre ranch up around Glade Park which overlooks GJ. He also attended Mesa State College in GJ after graduating from high school.

Wow! This is great. So much information and items belonging to Buffalo Bill. Little bit of info. You don't need to worry about the Buffalo burger. It was probably made with Bison. Which is farm raised for it meat. No real Buffalo killed. Colorado is a beautiful state. Can't wait to see what's in Las Vegas. Thanks for showing us where Buffalo Bill is buried. When I was little kid back in the late 1950's, my parents took me out to the ruins of Rome, Kansas, where Wm. Cody lived for several years to see his then-crumbling house. For many years I cherished the square-headed nail I easily pulled from those gray wooden boards! And yeah: there is a pic of Cody in his open casket before the burial on lookout Mountain that even shows how balding in old age thinned his famous long hair. Mark Twain told a story about how fame could be fickle. One day while strolling through London's Hyde Park, he was approached by a women gushing about how much she admired him... until it became apparent she thought he was Buffalo Bill!
