I think the reason this offseason was quieter (besides $) was because of the success of past offseasons. Like S/WR, they signed guys who could start but then end up giving bigger roles to Shakir and Hamlin. They sort of bet on the develpment of players on their own roster and their signings were more of a safety net/depth pieces.

Can we at least start the narrative on Bean and McDermott getting the GM and Coach of the year. It's so funny because (being honest here) I had fired both of them last year after the Cheifs game. What a turnaround.

Still don't understand rhe Elam or Kincaid pick, Knox would have the same or better numbers than Kincaid if he was still Te1, shouldve taken Bryan Branch that draft at FS & LaPorta in the 2nd, Elam should've been a WR
@peterwilson48654 сағат бұрын
@@jcZo23 Elam is already a good player and will be starting opposite Benford next year. Benford and Douglas are the best boundary CB tandem in football this year, but they're not going to have the money to justify paying Douglas into his mid 30s. He's gonna walk for a really nice 3 year deal. Elam has 2 years left after this one and the story isn't written yet on him. Kincaid is a far better receiving threat than Knox. He's top 6 in ADOT and has by far the most uncatchable targets in the NFL at the position. For some reason Josh hasn't been very good on the deep ball this year, specifically to Kincaid. Laporta was featured as a #1 target in Detroit's offense and had a flukey TD binge. His numbers are way down this year too. Kincaid was a fine draft pick and he's a very good player already.
@jcZo234 сағат бұрын
@peterwilson4865 good players play, they didn't even dress him Sunday & they were playing man D, he was a waisted pick & no way they don't bring Douglas back for 1 more year, they clearly don't trust Elam & calling him good is a reach
@peterwilson48653 сағат бұрын
@@jcZo23 it's because he doesn't play ST. He's the backup boundary CB full stop as evidenced by him being the one to start when Douglas missed a game against Miami and he played great. He had a great off-season, TC, and preseason by literally every report. You've always got some pretty shit takes in these comment threads.

Love the contract discussions with Greg every time! Definitely interested in the Von Miller/Daquan Jones contracts next year and whether we keep them or cut them/post June 1st cut them to alleviate some dead money in 2025; Daquan is really the only guy who looks to have aged a lot since last year, and Von’s cap hit is just too high next year so I would expect we reset with a DE and a DT with 2 of our first 3 picks in the draft

Zero reason to keep Jones or Von

I think Ray Davis is the player who exceeded expectations . Late draft pick. He’s been essential to this offense . So glad he’s here. I think over all, the draft class has been more essential than the free agent moves. I really hope they keep Mack hollins next season. Amari seems like wishful thinking . I’d prefer they let him go and extend as many of the vets as they can based on who’s essential . Especially on defense. It seems like aside from cooper most of the offense is already locked up .
@peterwilson48658 сағат бұрын
If he's productive and healthy the rest of the season, then I'd be good with a 3 year extension for Cooper if it's between 15-18 million AAV. He's only 30 and still a legit alpha boundary guy. That would eliminate the need to spend an early draft pick on a WR. Then his contract would be falling off the long term cap picture when Coleman would be due for an extension.
@danielfishback63488 сағат бұрын
Need to keep Mack! The blocking/special teams contributions are so awesome, along with the leadership and locker room presence he brings. Also excited for Ray to get his runs in the last three games of the year against the Pats and Jets; those games would be a good time to keep Jimbo’s legs fresh for the playoffs
@danielfishback63488 сағат бұрын
@@peterwilson4865 completely agree! Cooper getting a head start on building chemistry with Josh this year is a big benefit, and he’s a great example to have in the building for Coleman too
@peterwilson48658 сағат бұрын
@@danielfishback6348 exactly. In a full healthy season with 130 targets or more, he can still put up like 1300+ yards and a boat load of tuddies. Window right now to me is wide open, so work on an extension for both he and Shakir and keep the cupboard stocked. After 2025 they'll be able to get out from under Knox's contract or maybe since he's been paid already he'd take a very team friendly extension, since he's such a great inline guy.
@danielfishback63487 сағат бұрын
Definitely looking to the 2026 offseason for a Knox restructure, at the very latest; another great culture guy and hopefully willing to take less money to stay. Could see them even converting some of his 2025 salary to signing bonus and then in 2026 extending him a year or two

Joe what do they do with Kair Elam ? I would really love your thoughts! Go Bills !
@jcZo233 сағат бұрын
If they bring back Douglas I can see them drafting another CB & trading Elam, he clearly hasn't worked out, Ingram is above him on the depth chart too
@ericaures47342 сағат бұрын
Think they move on from Douglas to continue the younger, cheaper transition they started last year unless he’s an affordable 1 year deal. Von, Jones and Cooper as well. Wish we could keep them but the list of guys that have to be signed to their 2nd contract has a lot of key players. If Douglas is gone, Elam is starting opposite of Christian Benford. I think he’s going to be really good with the reps.

@peterwilson48658 сағат бұрын
He's going to be in the same percentile pay wise as Oliver's contract turned out to be. He's going to be over 20 million a year easily, be regardless of your personal feelings. He's a very good player.

25mill per for a DE is cheap, he's irrelevant as a sack artist but he does everything else right
@DeanGrand3 сағат бұрын
@jcZo23 25 per would put him at 5th highest paid edge rusher, tied with myles garrett, so miss me with that concept.

The KC Glazing still going on in the national media is absurd, Mahomes sux this year, not an opinion but they find every excuse they can & kC might not even win enough games in the playoffs to See Buff they're that bad, they're 5-5 without the refs bailing all year, Chargers & Steelers r bigger threats, LamarRB is 🗑 in the playoffs his entire career so meh, not concerned with them at all
