Buffalo runs into a massive lion pride

Lion prides hunt buffalo by attacking the hind side or rear legs, and once the buffalo goes down, the others move in for the kill. While the buffalo is held down, one lion will place its entire mouth over the buffalo's snout to suffocate it. Another lion may also attempt to break the buffalo's neck or crush its windpipe.

@@killchourus Ran into a guy at a Phoenix Tesla charging station a few weeks ago who had a Land Rover that had been switched to electric. The conversions are done by a company on the East Coast of the U.S. I'd ship a few Rivians and/or Ford Lightnings to S.A. and have them customized for safari touring. If that was my business, and if I could afford it. The change is coming. Would also welcome a silent camera motor drive here 😉

That move by the lioness was definitely a learned technique to use momentum to take it down. The male is securing it from the back and one lioness tries it at 2:24 and couldn't get a hold. Then another (possibly a different one with a dark spot) tries again at 2:29 and is able to get hold as she goes over. Beautiful move. Sad for the buffalo but the pride eats.

Those death cries from the buffalo really hit me, the buffalo knew it was over and he was about to die. He ran out of energy, his life gone, in order to give energy and life to the pride of lions. Nature and the circle of life, beautiful and cruel at the same time.

2:19 That bite low down the spine is one of the techniques lions use to bring down buffalo. Even though they may not sever it fully, a bite and damage it causes is enough to get the hind-legs to lose power, making it easier to bring down the buffalo.

I often hear that it’s natural rule, cycle of life… selection… mother nature, and it’s so beautiful and so… But, what's beautiful about it? It’s just plain cruel, from the side of nature, that we have to eat each other in order for it to stay in tact and healthy. It’s basically a big mouthed monster. Herbivore keeps plants in check while carnivores keep herbivores in check. Everything eats each other. Even that beautiful field flowers, charming your eyes, will eat you if you come and stay unconscious for a while on the ground. Illusions and tricks of our “beautiful” nature. 🙂
@kevinsaviro2708
@kevinsaviro2708 11 ай бұрын
Its beautiful because it works so well. If nothing ate buffalo, buffalos would get overpopulated and then this buffalo would starve and die a slow horrible death. Nature is cruel but that cruelty is a subjective human point of view. Nature has no thoughts, feelings, remorse, guilt or love. Nature just is and for nature and the Earth to be healthy, animals need to consume each other. Its beautiful that these lions work so well together to get a meal, its beautiful nature let lions evolve to be so strong and let buffalo evolve to be aggressive tanks to defend themselves. Its beautiful that that system works so perfectly and that its here. Nature is equal. Predators get a chance to take down prey. Prey has a chance to flee or fight back. The odds often favor the prey. Earth is the only planet we know where life and ecosystems are possible. That is beautiful, its special and we should cherish it. Cruel is a human subjective concept. Nature doesn’t care for individuals, it cares for the bigger picture. An ecosystem would not be healthy or possible if every creature lived in peace together.
@CoIdRaInN
@CoIdRaInN 11 ай бұрын
@@kevinsaviro2708That’s basically what I have said. I’m not crying about a buffaloes here. I’m just stating, that Everything that lives in the nature, is FORCED to eat each other, even their own kind, and who made it like this? Nature made it like this! It’s purely rules of nature. To imagine the Nature properly, It’s like a cannibalistic being, with trillions of different hungry mouths, attached to its body. And all those mouths are munching on their own body. It’s a monster of scariest nightmares. I can’t call it a beautiful… even though that sometimes I fall into it’s illusion too, and find natural beauty in the environment. But to judge it as it is with a cold mind, it’s a scariest and the most disgusting monster we can ever imagine. Humanity is probably its fatal mistake, of our “beautiful” nature, as it gave us minds, strong enough to judge its chaotic selfishness.

It's was the lionesses which was doing most of the jumping on the buffallo initially, once the Buffalo got tired the bigger male lions,jumped on the Buffalo and started giving stronger bites to the spinal cord , and the pride brought down the Buffalo quickly and a swift end. It's wrong to say male lions don't hunt, against big prey like Buffalo and giraffes, they carry a lot of weight to bring down the prey and provide food for the pride.
