This guy has the right idea. Buy cheap stocks not expensive stocks. Business growth is more important than stock price growth. Thanks Toby this was one of my favorites.

This was great, thanks. And sometimes I do wish that Mr. Bloomstran would write shorter letters, but the content is great :)

Buffett is always immensely sensible about buybacks. However no one ever criticizes Apple for now buying its stock back at 30 times earnings.

I think Buffett is buying back $1B a day now. Look at the volume of BRK-A over the last 3 months. Went from 6-7 a day to over 2k. I assume some of that plus the B-shares. I think he is going hard into it now until he gets to his cash position target. Similar velocity to his bet on apple, he wants to hide the volume so he doesn't get front run later.

I ran some back of the envelope math based on the 10-k and the proxy, and it seems to me roughly 500m of the B shares have been purchased in the last 2 weeks at roughly 250 a share.

Poor people buy depreciating assets. Rich people buy appreciating ones.
