Some of those who dislike her either simply don't like her character (nothing you can do about that), but most of them didn't get her character arc and how it continues in the answer. she tried to detach herself from social relationships from childhood on because she saw what a self-destructive wreck her mother became after her dad suddenly died. Minato comes along, and after months of quiet attraction she slowly allows herself to be vulnerable, faces her feelings and enters a relationship with him. Their love is strong enough that this is the one thing about the journey she doesn't forget. And then the one thing she dreaded happens, he suddenly dies in her arms. Of course she would jump at any chance to bring him back and even turn on the others, and I don't get how someone can't find it tragically beautiful.

I mean, it depends. Elizabeth abandons the velvet room to free him, so eventually he would get released. It's just that there isn't much of a story for him anymore so we'd never hear about it. I think the MC dying to protect everyone is more in line with the themes of the game though.

As much as I was torn to pieces by the ending, I think it was a perfect ending. It's the kind of ending that you can feel proud of the protagonist for what he has done, especially after putting dozens of hours into the game. He died so peacefully, the game settings when he died (rooftop, cherry blossoms, music) were so perfect that I think the ending couldn't get any better

It's a shame why the creators didn't create this game before Persona 4 like Persona 3 Ultimate, with The Answer Story which the chosen one must be decided with this true ending. For example, if male protagonist choose ... then is Aigis who is the chosen one, but if he choose Yukari instead, then is Yukari who is the chosen one, but The Answer Story would be different. The Answer Story between Yukari, Fuuka and Mitsuru must be different. Sorry to say but it's was already late.

Those endings were so much more satisfying that the original one and the one we got in Reload. Spending the last moments with the one you bonded the most is way more fitting and emotional for the end of his journey. I feel like maybe Ken fell in love with her, but the love she felt for him was more like the love an older sister feels for her younger brother. I also feel that somewhere along the lines, Ken himself knew that too, but he just kind of went along with it in hopes that she would ONE DAY love him once he got older(tho with the mc passing, he would never get the chance anyway). When you think about it like that, it kinda makes the social link feel not so....weird....I guess.

The first time I played the original version on the ps2, it didn't really occur to me that Yuki might have died. It just seemed a natural reaction for the hero of such an adventure to be taking a rest. Altho I understand everybody's frustration. After a long, fulfilling story, featuring likeable characters with decent character progression, I felt as if I was suddenly just cut off too.

No. While the max Moon social link does prevent Shinjiro's death, it puts him in a coma and out of your party. Everybody still acts as if he's dead the following day and the story progresses exactly like normal playthrough.
