Love the tutorial! As someone who loves knitting and Buffy this really spoke to my heart lmao. Did want to mention tho for anyone who wanted to make this a quick note. For the last row of the key hole when you are connecting the two sides, she didn’t mention it but you will want to add more increases in order to get back to the original number of stitches. This counts as adding back the original cast off. So if you cast off two, add two more. Same with three. Again, love this top and am almost done making it, thank you for the awesome tutorial!! 💞💞

Thank you for mentioning this I thought I was being daft rewatching that bit trying to see where to add in the stitches I dropped there!! ❤️❤️

Something that helps when knitting a gauge swatch (or tension square, as you said) is to either do 1x1 rib (knit, purl, repeat) or garter stitch (knitting on every row, even the wrong side) for a few rows before and after doing the stockinette, or other required, stitch. You can also do it on the sides by knitting the first and last 2-4 stitches on both the wrong and right side, so even if you're supposed to purl that row. That just makes it a little easier to see your stitch and row count, and helps the swatch lay flat and not curl. It's also a technique used for sweaters (usually ribbing the hems) to prevent it to roll upwards during usage :)

love this top! what could i do if i wanted to make it without a low back?
@lenseofleni2 ай бұрын
I am just guessing but i would just continue working in the rounds until you reach the point when you start the armholes and then devide the whole thing into two sections the back which i would just work up straight going back and forth and the front like she did in the video One thing to keep in mind then is to leave space for your head when attaching the front and back at the top I hope this makes sense
@soniacrochemore5112 Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for that tutorial, I can wait to try it !! I have question tho... Why knitting the sleeves as a seperate piece and not picking up stitches on the armholes ? Would it have been to tight ?
@cutiekittystudio Жыл бұрын
You could pick up stitches in the arm hold if you prefer! This method is more common when making sleeves in knitting, by attaching the sleeves after. It’s not tight at all, just remember to pull on the seams like I did at the end before tying off so that the shoulder doesn’t bunch up. I’ll include a link to sewing on a sleeve in the description as well
